London's Burning Series 1. After an arguement at the station the pump crew are called to a fire involving dangerous chemicals, Charisma still feeling upset goes it alone to gain entry and is injured during an explosion.

Do not be fooled, the original station was never converted to flats, it became a new station, a modern station. In fact, I am transferring there.

@@exotic9576 E34 Dockhead was operational during the filming, as most filming was done at LWT's Studios. The watches at E34 used to act as background characters here and there.

5:11 is a perfect example of why the PPE, or as I call it, PE (Personal Equipment, no protective) of the time, needed replacing. Those garden gloves did f*ck all to protect him.

crazy thing, the LFB was using this PPE during the kings cross fire and that prompted the move to update their PPE to Nomex fire suit of the 1990s

@@kd84afc yeah, after the Kings Cross Fire, the Brigade and this show entered the age of Fire coats and better trousers instead of buttons and the occasional belt with yellow leggings. Also in season 3 episode 8, they had the new helmets with the visors that started to grow in new gear. Like how you see them today with a full face shield and light on the top to free up room on the tunic

@@BlueTGM40 I remember the episode well, best thing about London's burning they had help from the LFB when making the series. Series 3 they changed to Nomex suits but kept using the cork helmets until the 8th episode of the series as you say. Collin putting the helmet on backwards.

@@kd84afc yea, Colin was still dumb for doing so, he was just trying to impress everyone, for the new gear, I’m sure in season 2 they got them. As always, yes the LFB did help the series, not only for the uniform, they also helped with training, setting the fires for their scenes correctly, and more.

Series 2 was the trial suits the LFB were implementing to some stations at the time (hence no FIRE on the back and the torches the opposite side) the full kit was issued between 1990-1991 with most only having the tunics first

Yes, but it got recently refurbished I hear. Turns out the building had lots of problems, so they bought out the wrecking ball on it but I don't remember the year. But, yes they refurbished it, and the original cast was there for the grand opening.

@@EvanDowell1213 It was a total rebuild, The LFB have done it to many of their stations across London, the building was old but far as I know they made the choice not because of problems in the building itself more then the design, the old dockhead station was built in the 1920s, so it was unfit for purpose with new fire appliances and so on as they did the same to Shadwell fire station

@James Peck The original station was never converted into flats, it was converted into a modern station. In fact I have done about 20 standby duties there and I am getting a transfer there because of a problem at my current station. So you are well wrong mate.
