Bonjour form France. We have also just passed the 1 million BEVs on the road. Solar installations have also gone crazy with 3.7 Gw being installed in 2023, a third of that was by homes and businesses for self-consumption. This may explain why the demands on the French grid have not risen, despite another 600,000 home heat pumps and all the EVs we have here now.

In Australia, every time cheaper batteries go on to the market (which isn’t that often) the feed in tariff goes up as does the connection fee. This changes the economics just enough to make battery update stall again. After a bit of arguing I got 20% off my consumption charge and a similar amount off my connection fee. It would take 17.8 years for me to break even on a 10Kwh home battery, if I fully discharged it every day. I am an owner of two new electric vehicles. I used to have two Audi 3.0D, which I loved. Initially, it was a bit strange transitioning to electric cars, but now it is much easier, and I have not faced any issues. I just needed to adjust my charging routine by letting them run down and then charging them at home or work. The fuel cost savings are brilliant. Although purchasing two cars at once was a bit extravagant, I am now used to it, and it has been great for me and my family. However, it may not be ideal for everyone. I been using a new GLE 450 for a few weeks, and it was excellent, but at 25p to 30p per mile, I do not miss the expense. On the other hand, electric cars are costing me 6.15p per mile for the ID3 or 12.2p per mile for the E-Tron, even during the day.

Hi great video as always. As a newly retiree I am able to spend more time in places I love. At the moment Italy for six weeks. I have family in Italy, 19 cousins live here. Italy have the poorest (awful at times) air quality in Europe. We have experienced 2 full days of very poor air quality. I was socked. The days had a constant smog that was not blown away by the wind, only rain filtered it. Then what contaminated water? I drive electric, Italy have in the main a good spread of chargers, we have not had any issues of a low charge. Whilst areas of Italy are trying to promote electric cars, to park in cities is free, you able to drive in restricted areas (you may have to register). But very few, sorry did I say very, very few fully electric cars are on the road. We have seen mainly Tesla’s, though less than ten in the 3 weeks we have been here. I drive a IONIQ 5, I’m sure I’m the only one here. Heat pumps though have grown exponentially within the last year bringing them to seventh in the European area, including Scandinavian countries. The motivation is the installation cost is covered to 110%, yes 110%! The extra 10% is taken off their tax payments for the 3 years after installation. Have a look at a weather app on air quality, there will be times all of Italy have very poor air. I was shocked the first time I saw this. Could Italy be a prime venue for an everything electric show?

With the greatest respect EVs are not selling. The manufacturers are struggling mainly due to price. I have a contact with Audi who advises me not to buy an EV at the momemt as the reliability is not as good as the media spin would have people believe . He says if you do buy one lease it as the batteries or individal cells do fail and cost upwards of £3000 to replace. Yes I know manufaturers give long warranties on the battleries but this still puts the car off the road for some time. I was informed some years ago that EV's were a stop gap to the eventual Hydrogen hybrid, with the hydrogen cell charging the EV battery, however for this to work we need green hydrogen which is currently expensive.

@t1n44447 ай бұрын
😂😂😂 Indeed. But Robert does the same on his platform. It has to be said, ignoring the trademark rants, he has improved in his delivery and is quite adept at skirting new "news". Unfortunately for Robert the better informed notice the gaping lacunae in his narrative. One example is the casual dismissal of hydrogen as a fuel, or, for the more pedantic, an "energy carrier". Anyone with an enquiring fact checking bent will have Googled the erroneous opinion on hydrogen and will be aware of the "EHB", European Hydrogen Backbone. What happens in Europe is "noticed" by car makers on the premise Europe is quite a large market. Rather than crib out the info here, and to avoid the confirmation bias thing, why not research from the comfort of your very own armchair? And, we hear from Robert that sales of battery EVs are soaring, but again is this true? Instead of simply taking his statement as gospel why not research for yourselves. Again, by doing your own research, you can avoid any issues of this confirmation bias. Or, as perhaps a lot of posters are doing, why not subscribe to the hydrogen power platforms ... for the essential "balance".

SUVs/dual-cabs/Utes, etc., are not needed in a city environment. Yes, you may pop to the countryside or farm at the weekend to see family, but again, it's a fashion statement, and it shows that the advertising industry is very good at selling things that aren't needed by the majority of customers.

Love these ABN episodes and Roberts reactions. The trajectory is electric and we need to stop all the nay sayers blocking it. As your last article said cheaper smaller cars are on their way. If they get 150 - 200 miles range they will be an amazing boost to get people into an EV.

Love your show and everything you are doing for adoption of EVs. Are you coming to Brisbane?

In Vancouver, we were in day 3. And even though we were early. All the test drives were booked. I hope I get to try an EV next time.

Why did you not bring the show to Melbourne????? Funny you mention that.

Commenting on the location of the show in Australia; it's always going to be a challenge given the distances involved. I noticed the number of Kiwis who exhibited and attended the show ( @EcotricityNZ - Gavin ) and those who came from Western Australia, both four hours by air. I come from Brisbane and no doubt some also attend from Darwin, Cairns, Adelaide, and everywhere in between. I appreciate how Melbournians feel, but you'll never please everyone. Accordingly, this is a plea for Everything Electric Show to remain in Sydney, at least it's central.

I did comment on the show coming to south Australia 🦘🦘🦘 . More central to Australia. But being in Adelaide don't stop me coming to Sydney for all 3 days . Test driving cars and bikes over the weekend. I'm so glad that I didn't drive to the show and arrived by train. But such a great venue. Thanks again team , managed to chat with most of you . Looking forward to 2025 . Just one question first weekend 1st and 2nd or 8th and 9th 😅 keep smiling everyone

I love the events but from an industry perspective it'd be great the car companies brought more technical reps - I've attended the industry days and it limits the conversation/potential networking when only their events staff attend
