Alisa Exactly! I expected to see a bunch of spoiled brats making super impractical purchases and rubbing their wealth in people's faces (like elites from Asia) but they're actually pretty relaxed and very in touch with their roots. It's almost difficult to dislike them. Some are even charitable.

There is a shitton of variables involved. It is far from easy, specially in 2017. Believe me, I KNOW. And you always need funding. And it's pointless to build an empire or leave a legacy if you won't teach your descendants to value it and keep working for it. They will just turn into some classic Yuppie scum and waste it all until they are broke.

LyricalXilence and some of them are rich out of taking advantage of others and fraud, or they are sons/daughters of... and sadly most of them dont put their money into valuable projects for the rest of society. Not every millionaire is an honest one, people forget very quickly about values when it comes to their own gain and benefit.

I think he meant the actually cost of survival can be, and is minimal, the rest of the money goes to extras and luxuries. As you don't need much to actually survive. Me having internet, hot water, elextricity, a car and availability for good food are my accounted for in my cost of living, but not for survival. :)

Electricity is necessary for survival. Heating one's home and being able to prepare and refrigerate food are not in any way optional. Also if you have any type of health issue things like having a phone, an oxygen machine, A/C, and many other things that require electricity make it even more necessary. Most people with children also need internet for their schooling. Not to mention, working a minimum wage job full time (in the US) does not even cover rent for a one bedroom apartment and in most cases, it wouldn't cover a studio apartment either. Your idea of not needing much sounds rather skewed.

It's not like I've gone and bleached my skin and had double eyelid surgery and cheek implants or whatever else weird shit there is? Why are you so triggered? And why are you generalising? Get over yourself. If you are the epitome of what it means to be white, I'd rather be an animal than be you. Ugly as hell personality with the 'superior race' sense. Get off your high horse.

Well, the Russian families I knew were from upper middle class, and well, they had kids with treatable illnesses and they would refuse to go see a doctor about those problems, when I asked, they said in Russian society illnesses and diseases are an embarrassment and going to a doctor will only cause embarrassment to the family. So I don't know if they were just wackos or this is something that is common in Russia. I know for a fact that mental illnesses are something in Pakistani and Indian cultures that is looked as being shameful and thus kept under wraps (I'm Pakistani with some Indian roots).

This was actually quite amazing. There was such a high priority on education, freedom, charity, and a respect for the arts it was not what I expected to hear. I feel sorry that these people came from such an oppressive country but their reasons for moving to the UK highlights what Western civilization is doing well. I am a poor nurse and am of course jealous of their resources but I am impressed with their values and genuine longing for a better world than they (or their parents) were raised in.

Considering that the average annual salary in Russia is $1500 USD, these hard working Russians really succeeded in life.

I prefer the Old Russian mentality on men and women to the modern world view that takes away the good and traditional male and female roles.

Don't you see they're all unhappy. It doesn't matter what they say or try to make sure people (but more themselves) that they have a good joyful life buy in fact it seems like they miss their country and that's more about the mentality. They will always be the strangers for English people. And also I think it's just stupid to "give a chance" to your child to have a different mentality that your own. Because the strongest persons , leaders or whatever - they'll definitely can manage to do it by their own. Rich parents're just growing up the strangers. I know they might think that it worth it but i personally wouldn't do this. That's sad. I'm from Russia and i would never left my country forever.

After your first sentence, i agreed with you, and kept on reading more i guess just to see you have same opinions with me, i had thought you are definitely russian and i was right. abroad, its a financially secured life with broader opportunities than back home, but the souls will not adapt to that world and will always be an outsider, prioritizing your family will help a lot tho, then again whats the use of all when your neighbour dont know about the russian food you eat at your home, what can you share with them, its a hard dual life.

My favourite part of London is spotting all these tiny obscure travel shops for tiny obscure countries tucked away behind some glass between a gastropub and a corner shop. Travel to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, etc. Are all available in London if you walk round the backstreets near Victoria Station and really absorb what's there.

Honestly, I have lived in London... and.. it's not great. I understand there may be some tax reasons to live there but.. if you could live anywhere.. I wouldn't suggest it. The weather is depressing. The housing is even more depressing.. all attached and looks mossy... as if all their roofs have been drown at the bottom of a dirty fish tank. The driving is horrible, no space. the public restrooms are.. made for dwarfs.. The old world sucks.

Yes we have to pay tax here - 20% - and it gets automatically deducted from our pay cheques, but if you pay too much in liaison to how much you earn, the government does give it back to you after the tax year ends in April
