@@liad0x Well at least one of the mothers said they wanted the nanny and maid to be ugly so that their "love doesn't have to get distracted once". The boss of the nanny and butler agency also said " many mothers, they prefer not too beautiful nannies." So based on that they are not single parents. Some of them also speak of their husbands.

For example like i want to be the prettiest in this house, if i ever bring a man into this house he shouldnt be distracted. But if she meant her husband then yikes!!! 45:00. They pay so much $$ for every detail, but mother casually, repeatedly uses God's name in vain right in front of her children. (Not bashing her, they seem like a lovely family, but just pointing out an observation that what all counts as fine details is in the eye of the beholder. - but it is something a child with good upbringing should know not to do, as it is not considered appropriate in lots of settings.) Thinking there should be , for the right families, a real demand for nannies that also have children utilize religious principles in everyday life (processing forgiveness, challenges, gratitude, as well as praying, and just generally raising therm to live the faith in all the little ways that count in everyday life. For the right family, such qualities in a nanny would be highly desirable. and even required.

Connie's story broke my heart. The fact that she had to leave her children and become an essential stranger to them, just to break the cycle of poverty, is insane to consider. I'm glad that her children, in particular her daughter, won't need to make the same sacrifice now that they have university degrees.

When I met my rich boss’ child for the first time they did not say hello, they said “how are you from Europe with that skin color” (my US boss hired me from western EU). No one corrected her so after some silence I had to explain my family history It’s not the kids fault, they usually mean no harm at all. The parents need to do a better job

Dude I actually cried. We do the same in South Africa. But the nannies do not abandon their kids. Sometimes the employers even let kids stay with them and be friends with the kids. And pay for their schooling. If the employers have the means. It's like one big family. And the babies kids are not seen as less and do no miss out on opportunities. I was truly disgusted to see this still happening in the world.

I worked at a expensive daycare that many wealthy families would send their children to for socialization. I basically raised these children for five hours everyday for three years. Most had no relationship with their parents they were emotionally neglected and out of control. I even raised a few from as early as 14 months old all the way until they were 3. After a while parents started coming to me and asking what my tricks were as their children started to become happier and more behaved, it looked like I had punched them in the gut when all I said was I gave them my time and attention. I had one little girl who told me she wished I was her mommy because I played dolls with her and gave her hugs. I left that job with trauma from seeing how terrible these kids lives truly were.

I grew up with both my parents, no nunnies and still emotional bonding didn't exist. My father was a computer engineer always working, my mother was a stay-at-home mom (she didn't work) but she had her own life, she would drop us at school and then go do whatever, visit her friends or sisters. After school I went home with school bus, most of the time I stayed at home alone watching tv, my brothers were in school, we studied at different schedules, me in the morning, them at noon. We are not rich but never went hungry, maybe middle class / working class. Just to say that even families who are not rich still fail to bond.

Secure attachments don’t have to be from a parent… sometimes it takes a village. We have moved away from the village raises the kid, and put most of the responsibilities on the mother alone. It’s not the way it’s been for centuries and there are still parts of the world where the village still raises the children. Now the screens are the nannies which is even worse 💀

In a perfect world that would be ideal but the reality is their mother is a stranger to them and always will be as long as she keeps working in other countries. Hopefully at least they don't have huge resentment towards her for giving what they should have had to other people's children. I was a nanny for an extremely wealthy family in Denver. They were and are the most wonderful down to earth people. I still talk to and see the kids and just stayed with the parents in Jackson hole - we are still very fond of each other after 25 years and they still treat me like family. Seeing these screwed up families makes me cringe.

That one mom parented the 7 dogs more than she patented her kids. The little girl was beating her brother he’s screaming and no one bats an eye. The dogs bark for 5 seconds and she actually ran. What the heck. I respect the decision to parent how ever you feel best but for me I could never ever give up those few precious firsts in those lives. I just lost my 12 year old unexpectedly and I would give anything for that time back.

It's funny how the children lied to the nanny about eating things their parents don't want to, yet the nanny is scolded instead of the children. You can even see the girl smile to the camera satisfied that she put the nanny in some trouble. That's NOT how you teach your children to be good people. The children just wanted a soda, which they're never allowed to have. My mom rarely, if ever, let me have soda at that age. It sounds like the woman didn't have any experience with strict diets or keeping junk food out of the house. I would have known not to give them soda and I'm sure I'm not the only one. As for the food portions, has she never cared for young children? She would have had a better idea of how much food to give them if she had cared for children their age before. She's just inexperienced, and she is trying for a difficult nanny position. If possible, she should have researched more before trying.

It's a part of her job, basically all nanies like that... But usually the parents would teach/ask the kids about it. It seems that different society/countries that do not usually use nannies/housemaids have different responses. All the nannies in this videos seem have a fine life tho since they work with upper class families.

I worked at an “independent summer camp” (ie camp for wealthy kids) & the stories of so many of the kids were heartbreaking. There was the 5 yr old from Korea who was sent to camp for weeks to be immersed in the language because his family were moving to America - no one spoke his language at camp so he spent most of his time in frustrated tears & learned all the swear words other kids could teach him. Then there were the brother & sister who had come straight from boarding school to camp for 10 weeks & had not even met their new stepmother. They would go home for a couple of short holidays per year & that’s it. Then there was a young girl, Hannah, who had an anxiety attack because she had volunteered to do a swimming leg for a camp competition & couldn’t do it when the time came, because of her anxiety. And she had tonsillitis & was apparently told that she had to take her medication every day or she could die 😳 She was such a sweet girl & so anxious about achieving & doing everything well that she was tied up in knots of anxiety...at 8 years old. I’ve thought about her a lot over the last couple of decades & hope she has learned to conquer her anxiety. Some of the kids were loved & their parents were involved in their lives, but far too many hardly saw their parents at all.

Insane, simply insane. I couldn’t stop shaking my head. And it’s not envy. I don’t envy them one bit. Having money is a good thing, no doubt, but being as filthy rich as the people featured here, is a burden. It takes away from real human bond. Those mothers might think they’re the most important person in their kids’ life because they make the decisions, but as the violin playing girl said, she calls the nanny when there’s a problem. And then there’s the other girl that said she misses her nanny when she’s gone for two days. You reap what you sow.

My best friend was a nanny for a extremely wealthy family in Texas. They had a newborn baby and another child under two. She stayed for a year or so but had to leave when the children started calling her Mom. She said the parents just treated them like accessories and everything was always for show. They didn’t actually spend any time with the children outside of being in public. It’s really sad.

My mom left me in Jamaica and raised 2 doctors kids in Boston. That's how we facilitate the immigration process. My mom is very close to the middle child, who became a successful lawyer. She tells my mom, who she affectionately calls Lally. "Lally anything you need, all you have to do is ask." God bless that child.

It's pointless to immigrate from Jamaica to the US. Most especially if you're a black female. Statistically, black American women have the highest average levels of the stress hormone cortisol of any demographic group in the world. Half-starved black African women, even, have more serene cortisol levels. America is fundamentally a rung down from Africa. It's where blacks who lacked even the power to fend off slave traders ended up. Nor could these black Americans be choosy about WHERE they were enslaved, because the journey across the Atlantic Ocean was pure torture and blacks are also a minority in America. In the big scheme of things, civil rights equal employment/fair housing laws are a joke. I have a B.A. in Economics so I can put them into perspective. These laws succeeded at rehashing the slave system by another name. Especially since blacks are also a minority in America.

There are two main reasons why black American females are under so much chronic stress. One, since the 1960's, most high-income blacks have migrated out of predominantly black neighborhoods into the suburbs. These defectors are overwhelmingly male as men of all races have an income advantage over females, rendering black females largely desolate. By the same stroke, the heightened market competition for white-owned homes automatically triggers supply and demand pricing adjustments. It further elevates the values of white homes and depletes black housing values. Black females are less likely to earn enough money to fill this imploding real estate money pit. So on the whole, civil rights laws are actually disadvantageous to black females in particular. Plus in one of his speeches, Martin Luther King decreed that blacks' love for our enemies should be primarily impersonal and "spiritual" in nature, as opposed to emotional or erotic. That means the US government and general population may scrutinize and regulate your deeply personal intimate desires and relationships BEFORE YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS EVEN KICK IN. That is of course a profound violation which defeats the purpose of said rights. I myself am an ostensibly all-black female with a white father which makes this policy particularly discomfiting. Nor am I privileged, which renders me financially susceptible to slave policies.

I was a nanny for a few years. Although I love the kids I felt awkward when they said I was "family", but I just assumed that I was just taking the word too literally. Until the last time they left their 4 kids and two dogs for 6 days in my house (because the parents were going on a business trip) and assumed I was doing them a favor because I love them and we were "family". They ended up "tipping me out of the goodness of their heart" (gave me 1/3 of what I deserved) and when I nicely tried to clear the "misunderstanding" the dad literally said that the kids take care of themselves LOL and that I really didn't need to do much (BEAR IN MIND: they're homeschooled, not allowed to play videogames nor watch TV). So yes, I cried out of frustration for a few days and had to pray hard to let any resentment go. I feel sad that some bitterness lingers when I think of that family, even though I still love the kids.

I went through something similar . There's no price to put on the people in your child's life , that have loved and cared for them. Yes before my own , I was a nanny / Auntie . I was an only child . The kids I nannyed in my twenties even looked like me . 2 1/2 -3 years I did this , ( some difficult moments? yes ! ) But we did become family . They came to visit me during some hard times during their puberty. Adolescing. They are young families now and Aunties , Uncle's to my own kids . I was wanting to go to school at that time . I gave it up long story . But to be a part of their childhood priceless . What is Love is what is real and lives on . Bless your life and your lessons. Learning to love yourself so you don't get compromised ? Taken me a lifetime . Those kids may end up picking their life partner because they are more like their nanny or care giver you never know . Love does choose. ❤️💖💜

My friend would never allow tomato ketchup amongst a myriad of other food items and the one thing they went crazy on when ever they could was tomato sauce. Neither of these kids when they grew up had strict rules around food because they remembered feeling nothing but deprived and sometimes shame - just because their friends could and they were not allowed. They have found a balance that works for them without the strictness being the main focus.

My mom was a nanny in Manhattan predominantly on the Upper East and West side. one of her charge's parents would disappear for days at a time, I really felt for that little boy, the parents would throw money at any and everything. That little boy ended up spending a lot of time in Brooklyn with us even started talking with a Jamaican accent. My mom went to many playdates and mommy and me classes, the crazy part is not one parent was in any of those classes or dates, it was all nannies. This documentary is so accurate.

As a single mother who worked as a nanny for an ultra wealthy family the only thing I ever envied about their life was the free time the mother had. They always chose to spend their time away from their children. I couldn’t understand why when that was the most precious to me and I had to miss out on in order to support my child. The biggest disappointment of my life so far has been having to put my child in daycare. My heart goes out to that nanny who only sees her kids once every two years.

Daycare teaches kids to socialize, make friends, and to share, its workers are required to take child development courses and psychology and most are college students and empty nesters and most daycares today offer STEM workshops and motor skills development aide and ALL daycares have strict safety protocols. Kids love daycare because they're with kids their own age in a casual play setting and play games, build, and do creative projects.

The mom spending more time and care dressing her 7 dogs than she does her kids is where I draw the line. I’m a firm believer that you shouldn’t have kids if you’re too busy to take care of them. I was still relatively happy to see that the mom takes time to pick the right people for her kids and that all their needs are met. It was when I saw her pay more attention to her DOGS that I came back to reality.

I don't like dogs wearing clothes, but that being said - I didn't find the part where she picked the clothes for their dogs most disturbing. She was, afterall, dressing the dogs together with her children after what they went on a walk together. I'm sure dressing the dogs is a fun activity for the children. It’s rare. I was a nanny part time to a girl a few years ago. I was with this family for 7 years. I was terminated at short notice because the mother gave up work. I got nothing as termination pay. I felt really hurt. I made a difference in their lives. I cooked for them and tidied up. This still hurts today four years later. I’m still friendly with the family and I love the girl dearly. The rich get richer.

Her business idea is smart, because these "parents" have no idea of how to raise children. In real life, kids need to indicate themselves when they are ready, because it's a matter of physical and mental development and it's something super private and intimate. Also changing nappies - super important for bonding and everything. It hurts my heart to see, how little these people care. Their kids are more like accessories to them, much like the Chihuahuas.

Daycare could never provide the hours needed so it wouldn't be a case of one or the other. Daycare just couldn't provide the hours of care.

My dad did something similar when i was a kid. Me and my brother were having some attitude problems so we went to see a therapist. She revealed to my parents that me and my brother didnt perceive our dad as part of our family. So he left his job and started to spend more time with us. It was like meeting someone for the first time. It took us a long time to construct a good relationship but it was worth it. We may not be as economically privileged as many years ago what we do have a strong family bond. Now that i think about it i feel really really grateful for all the things both my parents gave up to raise me and my brother.

I had 4 kids under the age of 3, the oldest was diagnosed as severely autistic while I was pregnant with the youngest which were twins, and all boys. My husband and I made a decision that I should stay at home and be a mom, unless we had no other option than for me to work. Between the first being born and the last moving out (the oldest still lives at home) I only worked outside the home for about one year total. And we are glad we did it that way. I wouldn't trade the time I got to spend with my kids for any amount of money, and they didn't seem to notice that we weren't rich. They have gone on to college, marriage and fatherhood, so now I get to be a grandma and have fun watching the next generation of our family grow up. It breaks my heart that my grandkids had to go to daycare so early, but we don't live close enough to help out with childcare. But the kids seem to be doing ok with it, and I understand the need for it. But these women seemed to be just selfish about taking the time to raise their own kids. The one seemed more maternal towards her dogs than to her kids, and they were all kind of horrible people.

My career was very demanding, so I had a live in nanny for the first couple of years after my child was born. One day my toddler called her mama and it stopped me in my tracks. I sat in my beautiful corner glass window office with a gorgeous view and thought how I was missing out on my family life for what? For money? My mom grew up with a staff of help and I still hear her talk about how much fun she had with her nannies, and how she was the favorite over my aunts, etc. I don't recall that sort of affection towards my grandmother. I still keep in touch with my nanny. Thankfully, my mother was more involved. I realized my son's nanny, as much as I got to adore her, was living my life. She was enjoying my house, my child, my pool, my cars, my life. Whilst I was away just working for all that which I would enjoy on spare time. I thought long and hard about my life and priorities. Long story short, I retired in my mid 30s and have been a stay at home mom since. There isn't a dinner I miss with my family now. My son once asked me if I've ever regretted leaving my "posh" life to be a "soccer mom" per say, not one bit! Its the best decision I've ever made. Gucci doesn't give me random hugs bc it loves me, or build memories.

She had to leave and return to her country due to some issues that came up but it was incredibly traumatic. She had been my entire world and it had felt like everything was upside down. There are a lot of nannies from the Philippines in the middle east. I've seen families that eat at a restaurant at 2 separate tables: 1 for the husband and wife, and 1 table for the nanny and kids. I've seen a preschool child cry at a school event on stage and wouldn't stop crying when the dad came up or the mom came up. Finally the nanny came up to hold the child and the child stopped crying.

I nannied with a special service to support myself while I lived in Hawaii. I got to play at the resorts like 4 Seasons and such. I actually was not asked back by one family early on because I was "too pretty". I was absolutely shocked. I am quite average but I was surfing every day so I was quite in shape. I didn't even wear make-up, dressed in plain baggy surf clothes. After that my boss suggested I 'ugly myself' so I would do an ugly hairstyle, I went to a thrift store and bought ugly tacky clothes, etc. I was in the top 5 nannies for the service and to give an idea of the $$$, I comfortably supported myself working 4 days a week!!! They provide all food, tip in the hundreds when the kids love you, and especially when they came home late drunk haha. I just felt so bad for the kids. Many were like void little dolls, not even making eye contact until a few days when they realized I actually cared and then they just transform into their amazing selves, they soak up the attention like they have never been really seen before. Often the children would hang on to me and cry their last day, especially after the week or longer trips. Many would beg their parents to hire me. It was so sad. Especially because with the insecure moms it makes them really turn on you fast. It is a delicate balance of caring for the kids but not giving them so much that the parents have to fire you because they have to be #1. With older kids I always went all out because they have already been through this and know to say nothing so I wouldn't get fired. Dealing with wealthy people is basically swimming in a mine field where everything is perfect on top where things can be seen, but underneath is a plethora of unspoken rules, scandal, and so much crap you would never even believe it unless you see it! I am thankful for my simple life everyday after experiencing that!!! *edit: my simple life

I am with a family who is "wealthy" by normal standards. Not ultra rich like these people. Everything looks great from the outside with children who are well clothed in trendy names and play all the rich kid sports like lacrosse and tennis, and go to the private school even though they live in the top school district in the state. Their house from the outside is very large and the gardeners do a nice job keeping up the curb appeal. But they are absolutely a hot mess of forgetting appts and sending me late to things regularly and rushing the kids from one activity to the next just to have everyone else deal with them, and have them fall exhausted into bed each night at 10pm to get up at 6am and do it all again. The kids don't even shut the drawers of their dressers after getting clothing much less clean up after themselves. But on the surface, Mom and Dad are doctors. The kids do every sport known to man. They have two nannies, myself and another lovely older woman. They belong to the country club. They have playdates daily. It's perfect right????

I do not offer an add-on fee/service for any hazardous materials." means *no Fifi poo,* period! No means no! Lol 😂 I leave it right there where it lies. Golf rules 😂). As for the family you nanny for, I hope you are able to enjoy the kiddos and put up solid boundaries with the parents to protect yourself emotionally amd legally. I learned that lesson the hard way trying to be helpful, trying to be nice. It is so important to set really clear boundaries and stick to them. The man that bought a house for their nanny was fair and generous, giving back to someone so important in their lives. On the other hand, that other lady could surely afford paying a holiday for the nanny to see her children or bring them over for a visit at least once a year -I guess there are enough guestrooms in the castle? I have a workaholic neighbour that has enough money to afford a live-in nanny for her two children and a maid. However, she's had 3 different nannies and a dozen different maids in the last 3 years. I think the reason is because she sees them as replaceable objects at her service, not as people with their own problems, needs, dreams, etc. They play such a vital role, they are part of the family! I think showing an interest in them as human beings and being generous says A LOT of who you are. Little details like taking them out to a nice restaurant in their birthday is nothing for a rich person but means a lot to the nanny, makes her feel special, appreciated and grateful. Wish more people could see it this way, is a win-win situation for everybody.

I went to a very "posh" boarding high school in Europe. I was not "posh" just lucky that my father's company paid because of remote location of work. (Africa). It was enlightening. Some kids had been sent for convenience, some just because of wealth, some to be kept away from "problems" (family or political) but just a mish mash of young kids away from home. How quickly you become family...and it was not a bad thing. From all corners of the earth. I learned quickly not to envy wealth. Some were old money and some nouveau riche. The great equalizer was we were all young and away from home. Truly we were the motley odds. I came out knowing I was lucky to have a "normal" family with extended family that were just good ordinary people who were never too busy to be thrilled for visits and embrace with big hugs.

You came out of the experience with appreciation for your normal and extended family; in other words, relationships w people who care and love you (& vice-versa) are important to you. You said wealth is not to be envied -- I agree on that. Having lots of money puts you in a position of power. Unfortunately, having more translates to being better (than everybody) - which is false. If you are lucky enough NOT to fall for this, then you can use this power to help others, such as allowing your Filipina nanny to return to her home country every several months to visit her own children; hugging your kids tightly and every so often, doing the nightly ritual and tucking them in bed; asking your chauffeur what his family needs the most and delivering it. The consequences of these acts will return to you a thousand-fold because then, you would gain a new appreciation for what your staffers do & sacrifice for your family and they in turn will want to do a better job. And more will be gained by you, if you put some effort and do the messy work of caring for your children every once in a while -- you can be present to them, you can get to know them, you can see them in all their glorious and miserable traits - and at the end of the day, they are hugged and know that they are accepted.

I resented my siblings for being able to have a mom, but I never realized how much they sacrificed for me to be happy until there came a time when we all didn’t have a mom. My father lived with my other sisters and I resented my sisters as well for having a father, but nowadays I want to be closer to my siblings despite where my parents are. I think parents want the best for their kids even if that means sacrificing a bond with their child, but they don’t understand how much of an impact it has on a child. For example there’s a Korean family in another show and the father was absent for 17 years playing baseball. Everyone says he was providing for his children, but why must emotions come after finances. A kid won’t understand that you left them at a young age to put food in the table, but a kid would understand why you can’t buy them expensive toys..but yet you’re always their to support and cheer for them. Of course it is good to be financially stable, but at some point you must make sure your children are emotionally stable. Sorry you went through that..I know how much emotional trauma that gives you and hopefully you are currently healing or have already started healing. If your child has specific dietary restrictions and you're bringing in someone who knows nothing about them to prepare their food, it's absolutely ridiculous to expect them to just KNOW all the specific tiny details - especially when it's a diet that's alternative to the mainstream. The issues could have been avoided if she just wrote down or explained clear instructions on what is and isn't allowed and what serving sizes to prepare. I could never handle this, the complete lack of instruction and clarity would create so much anxiety that it'd make me ill.

My cousins didn't stop eating that kind of food, they just became sneaky about it and would make deals with people who worked in their house or people who visited. I have a relative who is raising vegan children. Her third child was a premie who was fed a special non vegan formula and diet for her first two years. That child three years younger is bigger than the five year old and the two year old was born two months premature and VERY tiny baby. The five year old is bearly talking, very resentful and always hungry. She can clearly see she is being treated unfairly. None of us can understand how the parents can not see this. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the cheats they get at parties I think the older ones would not be well at all as sick and stunted as they seem as it is. Recently, a few vegan parents who starved their children to death were put in prison for life. So finally the precedent has been set. Depriving ones self as an adult of essential nutrients is one thing but starving children is quite another.

I’m not a parent yet, but one day I may decide to try to be a daddy. Waking my child up in the morning, driving them to school, picking them up, listening to them about their day, and helping them with their homework would be the greatest parts of my day and life. I want to be there on the beautiful days, the good days, the bad days, and the ugly days. All of those experiences are what it means to truly be a dad. Those times when I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to comfort them when they are having a nightmare and are crying. The times when I would normally rest but instead take up my child’s hobbies and play with them. To the day I’ll be crying watching them go off to college and one day watching them get married. Even as a prospective dad I can’t imagine missing any of it. One day we’re all gonna be on our death bed and leave our loved ones behind. It doesn’t matter if we were rich or powerful. What matters is love. If I have kids and the day comes that I pass I want them to remember me, their dad, not by the material goods or money I gave them, but by the constant love, support, and presence I showed them. I spent my early years being in the care of a live in nanny, although it was nothing near as posh as professionally trained nannys. She was absolutely lovely. After I was born (third child) my mom had to work and had little time to look after me, thus the idea of a nanny was brought up. It was fantastic. I had two moms essentially. I think that there is a healthy balance to it though, if all the important milestones are left to the nanny to take care of, there will naturally be distancing between parent and child. I’m glad that while my mom was busy, she specifically and intentionally spent time with me. Through this I’ve always understood my mom was busy and respected that and I’ve never felt neglected. So in summary I will say that having a nanny can be a very helpful and beneficial thing if it is done in the right balance. I still speak with and love my nanny today, 19 years later.

The notion of paid staff being "like family" reminded me of an elderly patient my mother assisted some years back. This woman had spent decades caring for this family, their children, their home, and they told her she was family. She believed them. Now an old woman, she became ill and had to be hospitalized for a couple of months. When it was time for her to be released, they didn't want her back -- she had no home to go to. I guess her membership in their family hit its expiration date. My mother, who was part of discharge planning for the hospital, had to tell this woman that she couldn't go back to what she considered her home. I don't remember where she wound up being placed but just remember thinking how much of a gut punch it must have been for someone who actually believed her rich employers when they said she was family.

Wow that is freaking brutal… it kind of reminds me of one of the last scenes in the movie ‘Midsommer’ when two cult members are being set ablaze inside of a small cottage as part of a ritual. I firmly believe that was a sales gimmick. These people are coming to her because they don’t know how or don’t have time to potty train their kids themselves. They perhaps either think or have convinced themselves that it is too hard. So they turn to hiring a professional to do it but they have to feel good whilst doing so. When she said that the maids and the nannies had to be ugly, so her love wasn't distracted, I laughed so hard! One of our anesthesiologists hired a Russian nanny, because she was brilliant, but very plain-looking. She was so taken by her good character that she paid for her to complete additional degrees to be a certified nurse anesthetist. The kids grew too old to have a nanny, and she met a wonderful and handsome man. They married, and she has 3 children of her own. She is such a smart and lovely person.

My brother and I had a nanny each and my mother had strict instructions on diet, we were vegetarians. As soon as she left for work, nanny made us fried eggs, plenty of rice and hotdogs (they were free to shop for their food preferences). We were very happy during Breakfast! The times with our nannies were so much joy, I called mine mama. The down side is, my mother and I were not very close but she was just working very hard to give us a good life. Nannies are a blessing because you get an extra person loving you. My parents helped two of them finish college degrees for all the love they gave us.

I can't believe this. Being physically involved in your children's lives is everything. Watching them grow before your eyes, learning about their talents and skills and likes and dislikes, bonding with them, is something so precious that regardless of how difficult and exhausting parenting may be, you will always miss it and be very proud of yourself to be a part of your children's life and to have trained them to reach where they are. I use to nanny for a extremely well off family (they lived on the lake in a 6 mil home in an extremely well off community). I felt terrible for the kids. Private school all day followed by lessons and tutoring. I was instructed to bring the kids to the parents only before bed. During the summers the kids were sent to "camps" (if you could call them that). I would often be sent along with the kids and given a budget to bring the kids presents in visitor days. The parents didn't even care what it was. Just "things they'll like". It was extremely impersonal.

While the vegan mom chastised the nanny’s meal in front of her daughters, damn woman, she totally ignored the fact that her daughters loved what the nanny had prepared. One girl had almost cleaned her plate and the other daughter was clearly enjoying it. I bet she finished that plate of pasta. Vegan mean mom needed to give the nanny a list of meal plans including the recipes to be used. The nanny said in the interview she could prepare anything with a recipe. Also did you notice the girls totally ignored what their mother was saying giving the impression they had heard their mom say all this so often, probably to other employees-where is their last nanny?-they just shut their mother out. All they cared about was getting that pasta down like it was going to be taken away at any moment. All vegan mean mom had to say was, give them less, add a nice salad, and it’s a great meal. She seems to be that kind of person that enjoys letting others run headlong into any trap possible. She doesn't give people vital information, so she can chastise them for doing it wrong afterwards. Seems to me there isn't much "spiritual" in that woman if she draws her energy and joy from others failing.

thank you so much - the producers of this documentary - for finally giving us a short interview with one of the Philippine nannies, usually they are just ignored in documentaries or quickly skimmed over. this is the first time i have actually heard one of them explain the reality and how it feels. even when i have had an asian nanny in the middle east - very occasionally for when we needed a date night, i never knew what it was like for her to leave behind her kids in india... wow. so sad. but they just do what they have to. 💞

These children are beautiful, as all children are. I hope that these nannies, tutors, and bodyguards can love and raise these children to be wonderful adults.
