Stumbling outside after a long night out in London’s West End, the seductive smell of food carts is enough to make anyone chuck all hygiene concerns out the window. Everyone has their suspicions about how trustworthy a hotdog cart might be and if it’s actually genuine horse meat or if those back alley cats maybe aren’t the only ones eating rats… but how much of this is just paranoia and should you be genuinely concerned?
Vince and his team have the job of making sure you don’t get any rat-dogs or other unexpected gifts from the hotdog vendors. To some, these lads might seem like the bad guys, but trust me, they’re on your side. By all means confiscate the carts, but offer them the chance to attend a food hygiene course in order to get them back. In the case of the unsafe ones, offer them a voucher or something towards new, safe equipment in exchange for completing food hygiene training. I don't think it's fair to put them completely out of business, the ones who are serious about it will attend the course and take the advice given.
