If you're a vegetarian for ethical reasons then you're just wasting your time. The dairy and egg industry is equally as cruel as the meat industry. This is coming from a vegetarian for 17 years who went Vegan two years ago.

Mark Curtis I’m not doing it for ethical reasons although that is a concern. I had throat cancer four years ago and I find it very difficult to swallow meat due to the damage radiotherapy caused. X

Thank you - that is very sweet of you. I have been mostly vegan for the last year. But I try not to be too strict on myself. My goal is massive reduction. I try not to label myself too much. Syrus ;-)

Yes thats a good resolution. I also try to avoid labeling but in the end I don't mind it too much. I just try to live my life like I think its the correct way (labeling or not) 😘

I'll never go vegetarian or vegan, but I do enjoy a meatless Monday now and then, food options are always nice for variety. I've had horrible tofu and will never touch it again because of the experience, it turned me off it permanently. I've tried vegan ''cheeses'' and didn't like them, I've tired vegan foods and the tastes are not always great for me. Not everyone can go vegan though, I do know someone who's allergic to soy and has to watch every thing they eat (surprising where soy-based stuff turns up in foods you buy from supermarket). Know another who has to eat meat for protein because their body can't properly digest other forms apparently, she was going anemic and getting ill all the time on the vegan diet. So they can never go vegan or they'd basically be malnourished according to the doctor and nutritionists they see. I'm not against vegetarians or vegans, I don't mind skipping the meat products now and then, I just don't want people telling me I have to because meat offends them. I've had the misfortune of meeting some who are militant and down right rude and hostile about others eating meat. I don't put up with those sorts, shoving their beliefs on others like that. I've got food intolerance/allergy issues so I sometimes need to ask about ingredients. It just makes going vegetarian or vegan too much of a inconvenience for those like me and my friends. Not everyone's body can handle the switch, it's all about your metabolism and chemistry whether you can do it. Eating healthy for your body and tolerances is best, not for food fads or belief systems. I will never give up my bangers and mash or bacon with my Full English beakie. Nope.
