Wow, he is very skilled! That was amazing to see. He rather quickly got the horse backed into the box each time. Absolutely incredible display of his horsemanship.

22:19 this view of the crowd around that poor horse...no wonder he was playing up. 17:29 The trooper's handling of the horse was quite something to see. Thanks LC 😊

It is not Disney land people keep your dirty hands to your selves and dont touch the horses. Stay out of their space there are signs at both bixes read and learn some thing.

You are allowed to touch the horses, just don't touch the reins or the guard. When a horse has enough of people, don't worry, they will let you know.

Excellent horsemanship skills, as usual, from the trooper in the left box!☺☺☺ I'm glad to see him back, he hasn't been around at HG since mid May, when rehearsals for Trooping of the Colour started. He's the trooper that became famous because he had been very vocal with tourists and kept both tourists and horses in check all the time😉 He was the topic of many debates regarding his accent, many said it's West Country, others said it's definitely Scottish😀 He's the only trooper i watched to be able to perfectly control many difficult horses like Ormonde, or this one in the box in the video (i believe it's Wallace), or another one who has been famous for not finishing many of his shifts because of his meltdowns, etc etc. He has the patch of Equitation Instructor on his right arm, which means additional qualification and training and therefore, he's highly skilled with horses. I think it's also a natural talent of his. All horses that had meltdowns with him as a rider managed to finish their one-hour shifts instead of being taken at the stables.

Thank you. I was trying to zoom in to see if he was that very good and firm guard as I've not seen him in these videos for some time. He wasn't wearing that instructor badge before, I thought. Hope he will be here more often. In those videos that showed him shouting or using his horse to clear the crowds, he was really skillful. I was very impressed and I think a lot of compliments were in the comments too.

@@wendysing9741 Yes, he's not easy to recognize because of that helmet that takes up a lot of his face. He wasn't wearing the patch in January when he started doing guard at Horse Guards, obviously, but by April, he did have it. However, i specifically remember a certain shift that he did around February where the horse had multiple meltdowns, both inside the box and outside it (what we see here is only half of what that horse did in February) and he managed to control it all through those 60 minutes non-stop. It was the first time i had ever seen such skill with anybody from both Regiments. I was convinced they would have to take the horse to the stables several times. But it wasn't the case. It was the first time i was watching him during a whole 1-hour shift and i'll never forget it. That's why i said that he has a natural talent to it. And he complemented it with the additional training for Equitation Instructor.

@Roox8115 To tell you the truth, I was confusing him with Ethan Jeffrey as well as the horseguard in the right box in the video. I don't know anything about horses. However, I did notice the leg movements and hand movements of the other guards but not this guard. It was almost like the horse knew what he was thinking and did likewise without instructions, so to speak. It was like the horse and the guard work so well as one. I must go find the Feb video to see what you've seen. Thanks again. Have a good day or evening wherever you are. ❤️

@@wendysing9741 Ah yes, only Trooper Ethan won the Elizabeth Cup and is far taller than this trooper. But if you watch the behind the scenes from the Elizabeth Cup, Ethan and him seem to be very good friends. This trooper was helping Ethan with his horse for the contest, Montgomery. He was also preparing another horse for the contest, painting the hooves with a protective oil-based solution. There are very swift hand movements😉 If you look closely, he is only moving the reins of the smaller bit, called the snaffle bit. Not the reins of the big one, the corrective bit. He only corrects/controls the horse using the less-used bit, when normally he should have used the corrective bit. The snaffle bit is a very thin piece of metal with big metal "O"s at each side and sits higher in the horse's mouth. Troopers usually never use that bit for correcting, although it causes the least amount of stress to the horse.😉

Yes, you're right, i had the same impression, but i just didn't know who he reminded me of. He looks like a slightly younger version of Trooper Ethan, maybe he's a cousin or some other extended family member.

@robbiepogue3559 0 seconds ago How stupid of a parent must you be to put your child in front of a horses mouth that is trying to bite everyone ahead of you and with a sign stating that!! What wrong with these people!!! They’re insane! Why doesn’t the guard stop them from teasing the horse with their hands. I don’t get it, they’re clearly annoying him so why let them do that?!

I have noticed the parents always put the child closest to the horse…. So they’ll get bitten first.
DISRESPECTFUL Tourists REFUSE TO RELEASE ignoring the signs!!!
