Whatever one may say, but the comments on this video regarding hindi and tamil actually highlights the fact that there is very big divide under the surface between communities, which can't ever be filled. Coming straight to the point, I guess Tamil and all other South Indian languages are very hard to learn and write, because they carry the baggage of more soffesticated and literary kind of ancient languages, also they are not spoken by very large number of people in total population. Where as hindi and it's variants has huge speaker and writer base in the country. To be practical, switching to Tamil from hindi is not practical. We speak English because used everywhere. To be practical we speak and write english, it's not about personal liking or dislikes. French/Chinese/Russians/Japanese they all speak English when they are required to, this ia about being practical and not personal taste or bais. On the other hand , It's not hidden that south indians actually have hatered towards hindi as a language. They feel offensive about it, and this has travelled from one generation to another. So the conclusion is, let's give up and admit that we can't be one, there is no India, either we are Tamil or Kannad or Malayalam or Hindi etc but no Indian. After watching Srijan talks, I used to call myself "Indian from ××××", but now I give up. That should now give immense pleasure to the souls commenting below....

These Tamil people think its supercool to reject Hindi and speaking British English or Tamil. But actually they are making fool out of themselves by not knowing at least a bit of the 'most spoken language' of his own nation. All states of India have got different regional languages but most people can communicate in 3+ languages that is mother tounge, Hindi and English. No one is forcing them to abandon Tamil, but a little Hindi knowledge on the side (specially being in foreign) won't harm or disrespect their Tamil background. In general Tamilians don't welcome non-South Indian culture. You will hardly find N Indian breakfast shops like paratha etc in TN but see rest of India has got so much craving for south Indian breakfast specially Dosas that you will find everywhere. Rest of India want to embrace each other cultures but these Tamilians have a false sense of superiority and conservativeness.Regarding language, they think Tamil is a superior or old language but in reality neither Tamil nor Hindi, rather Sanskrit is our ancient language. And yes, I am neither from North nor from South India, but from East India.

Sorry I don't think u have got the point..no one rejects Hindi..it will be learnt when required the same way one learns English as it's required for studying or working, will you expect any German or French or Britisher to know Hindi, contradictorly you learn the respective language and when you come down to South to Chennai or Bangalore for job do u learn Tamil or Kannada ?? No ... You assume they should know Hindi y is this double standard..you have to learn Hindi as you cannot work in your state due to the lack of opportunities, when we are staying in TN for work or studies why should we learn if someone is just not interested, btw I learnt Hindi cos I liked learning languages it was my Choice..
