You need to take care of the fish you have on the beach and get it back in the water before fighting the next fish

So when you're fishing alone, maybe use less rods?🤔 I have learned this lesson the hard way!

Me too brother. Gets to be way too much work when they start biting. It’s fun and exciting to see multiple rods hit but it can become way unmanageable especially when you get a shark or a big ray and have to take a little extra time getting it off the hook.

Tony, I have learned how to fish the gulf coast more from you than probably any other KZbin fisherman. Thank you for showing the perfect days and the “lessons learned” days! It helps us all become better.

This is exactly why you don't use more than one rod when you're alone and using light tackle.

A couple of questions from a complete novice, Why do pompano run to the left and why do you choose to use that "runt" rod? Looks like you had a great fight on your hands.

you mentioned many times during the video that you knew the fish was getting water in its lungs BUT unless things have changed in the last several years..... that fish does NOT have lungs it has GILLS.

My first response to this video was negative, and I UNSUBSCRIBED. Then I started thinking about the fact that, given enough years on the water, we probably all have had similar experiences. I can not point a finger at you without having three pointing back at me. Therefore, I have decided to RESUBSCRIBE and extend a little grace.......something we all could use in the world we live in today.

Fishgum, you should have taken care of the fish you landed, to include the release if it was not a legal catch. So far I have stayed away from fishgum products and after watching this video and the handling of the fish out of water I seriously doubt I will purchase any.

The more I think about this episode, not only were you fishing with more rod than you were capable of handling you compounded the problem by fishing with light tackle as you pointed out on numerious occasions. I wonder if you are capable of fishing with just one rod. Sad to see anyone make this mistake particularly a supposedly experienced fisherman. Shame fish and wildlife were not present to spank your hand.

Supposedly, you are reasonably experienced with surf fishing and being so making a novice mistake or more to the point garning viewers to boost your following and profits is unacceptable. To justify by saying you at least show your mistakes is just sad. You were probaly the fisherman who left the dead/beheaded catfish on the beach from a previous surf fishing video I watched that was stepped on by a surf fisher.
