Lone Star Beer Review by A Beer Snob's Cheap Brew Review

I explain what a DIAPER BEER is in this video. Lone Star is up this round in the Texas Edition of the Cheap Brew Review! They call it the National beer of Texas, but when I was in Dallas, nobody I was drinking with had heard of it.

My Grandpa worked for Lone Star brewery in San Antonio TX from 1945 to 1968. He passed in 68 at the young age of 53. I always went with him on his overnight deliveries when the lone star brewery ran their own 18 wheelers delivering LSB to the distributors around TX an OK. Back in the 60s & 70s this was the best lager you could buy in TX. By the 1990s every thing went down the drain. I've tried lone star in the early 2000s. This is not the original Lone Star Beer. It's ashame we lost a great Texas lager beer.

i’m from Texas and go Lone Star Lite…during the pandemic i remember a oil driller type swearing that the grocery store being out of Lone Star that day was part of some cabal

My first taste of Lone Star was the foam you got when you pierced the can with a real church key can opener. My Dad gave me a sip. We were in a boat fishing at Granite Shoals.

Wanted to see some thoughts on lone star. Got a 6 pack the other day and i enjoy it. Decent flavor with nothing too crazy and dirt cheap. Will be my go to beer from now on. Cheers from Texas!

Absolutely! Lone Star is the ultimate budget beer. I can pick up a 12 pack of bottles for $9.80. Fantastic!

Lone star is the go to cheap beer in Austin TX, it’s everywhere. It’s a staple in bars and music venues/ festivals. I’d rate it above Bud and Miller, and closer to Banquet or PBR. It’s also cheaper than bud, Miller coors etc here.

Lonestar was the first beer I ever bought when I turned 21 and I've been drinking that ever since although I do like Miller High Life as well and occasionally I will drink Shiner Bock

fun fact… the big town near me, Tyler, Texas won state in football back in the late 90s. in the playoffs two local sports announcers lost their shit during a high scoring game with a bunch of returns for touchdowns & despite internet being virtually nonexistent then, they went viral. Jay Leno had them on. in lieu of the usual appearance fee… the two guys were paid in Lone Star Beer. on air Leno laughed it up as stage hands wheeled in several crates of Lone Star.😂😂😂🍺

Also $6.99 for a sixer of 12 oz bottles here in East Tennessee. Lone Star seems tastier and hoppier than the first time l tried it in Texarkana in the late 1970s. Their website describes it as a Tex-Mex lager. Most folks 'round these parts have never heard of it either.

Lone Star was way more popular than Shiner, and Shiner's not doing so well. Absolute trash Texas beer was the Falstaff brewed in Galveston. Now why would you brew mass market beer on an island with a poor water supply?

Lone Star is not as sweet as PBR or Miller High Life. But it has a tad bit of that PBR "funk" which makes me think they are using the same yeast strain that PBR uses, So I am nic naming Lone Star beer "PBR DRY" Cheers 🍺
