Looks fun! The first guy in the video has the best rhythm and musicality. Obviously each person has their own style and makes it their own. It's not the Country Two Step taught in dance studios but that's ok as long as they step to the beat of the music. What gives Country dancing a bad name is when the lead just plant's his feet and ignores the music.

There are many variations of two step. This variation of two step is derived from ballroom style country two step/traditional country two step. This follows a quick, quick, slow, slow style rhythm which can be seen in the video. If you want to break it down musically, this translates to acknowledging the half beats between counts (ie 1 and 2 and) but it is easier to teach/ describe to people as quick, quick, slow, slow while moving in a continuous motion in line of dance (counterclockwise) around the dance floor.

That's part of the popularity of "country swing". It's meant to be a different style of two step that goes bigger with tricks, spins, ect., but still follows the basic principles of the dance. This can be seen throughout, either by the dancers maintaining the timing through their steps or showing the timing through body rhythm movements. I will say the timing isn't perfect, as you can hear the track was dubbed over the original recording so timing looks slightly off in some sections. But even muting the track, I can see that this is a two step rhythm and the song has an upbeat moderate tempo.

I see it as 2 stepping, even if the video is not synced to the song beat. This is similar to what we call 2 step county swing up in Wisconsin. Same basics- QQ/SS, and the addition of the other elements. Great work, wish the individual song-dance vids were around!!

🙄 again... lemme explain. all I see is spinning, dipping, jumping... nowadays kids don't dance. And yes, they can't even match the beat moving too fast for any song. I know any form of two stepping, I've loved dancing my whole life. What kinda crap are these kids turning it into?? Nobody likes dancing close to their partner anymore. This just makes me dizzy, even to watch.
