This sounds like a homage to those days before hardcore breakbeat turned in to Jungle or Drum and Bass . A Guy Called Gerald , Shut up and Dance , Moving Shadow records , Holy Ghost Inc. Goldie , Smith and Mighty, Mickey Finn , Fabio and Grooverider and even pop crossover acts like The Prodigy all contributed to this mutation that started from House and Techno raves with a Dub sensibility lifted from reggae that was widespread in the UK. I have the impression that LONE music has more influence of 808 State's textures and experiences than the Rave culture. Although much of the 808 State stuff sounds experimental, it's still danceable and goes way beyond. I like to think that LONE is like the evolution of that pulsing energy of the early 808 State.
