Is the blue rug from Ikea?! I agree, it was definitely the way to go! The target one blended with the cow hide too much since a majority of the rug was beige like the hide itself. The blue one contrasts nicely, pulls from the color of the accent wall, and the print is so elegant!

I think you made the right call with the rug pairings. The pink one was too geometric. The texture and richness of the Persian was a much better fit to the natural organic shape of the cowhide. They both complemented as well as contrasted each other. The pink mod looking one was fighting with the cowhide. Good Job!!

The sofa in tan wss my love at first sight. And the rest of the flat follows suit, became a place of style, not a shabby dorm anymore. One of the things I like about your style is that you are so daring and try a few options before deciding what's best. This was a huge challenge, no space at all and you had to fir two rooms basically. The idea of placing the sofa in the centre was incredible, it made everything cohesive. I know this is over 2 years too late but I’m so happy you chose the green ikea rug … as soon as you first showed it I was hoping to see it fully displayed and the cow hide just made it even better! Bout to start renovating my new house-it will be my second house to renovate-first time I was single / didn’t quite know my style, and was intimidated by my contractor- BUT this time I’m married…to a handyman 🙌🏼 + I have a way bigger budget 😜 and an older house that fortunately has most of it’s original 1960s character. OMG Drew, it turned out amazing, I love that you used the IKEA rug with the faux cowhide rug, it gave it the perfect look, and I like that everything now just fits and works so much better and each area is separated and comes together perfectly.
