I was once homeless and one guy asked me what was something I really wanted and I really liked photography and still do and amazingly he bought me a camera and a solar charger so I can keep using it. I then found my way up the ladder selling photos and getting hired to now having a full time job a wife and 2 kids in a pretty nice house. To whoever reads this I hope one day you find a fortune as I did in a stranger with a dream to help others. Bless you all.

I know a homeless man who sits in front of dunkin donuts in my town. I always stop and grab him a coffee and donut when I get my morning coffee. We sit in my car and talk for a bit. He is so nice and has some interesting stories from the old days. The first time I met him he was so surprised that I stopped to talk to him. He says it's the best part of his day now. And it's the best part of mine. Update.....For the many people asking if 3 yrs later I still see him, sadly I do not. I have not seen him in awhile. This was even before the coronavirus broke out. He was an older gentleman with some health problems so he could have passed away. Or he moved out of the area. I live in a beautiful small town but, even we have a fairly large homeless population. They all hangout in the same place he did and they have not seen him either. I hope everyone is staying safe. It's a stressful world out there especially right now but, try to be patient and be kind to each other. Some of us may wear masks but, you can still smile with your eyes and nod to say hi. I will go and take it... You know it was so lonely...and terrifying... ... I can't forget those days... I was alone in my room... eating Alone. ... and nothing else.. couldn't talk to any one... .. the quarentine felt like a prison to me... Those days were horible... .. I can imagine how hard ... it would be for this person too... He goes bring food ...ask the person to eat food with him... You know.. how long would have been ..when he ate with some one... .. I've been homeless twice, without kind people I would never have gotten off the streets. Absolutely made me cry. Edit- The first time I ended up homeless I ended up in San Diego and a very nice family took me in for a while I was 16. The second time I was homeless was after I got out of the army when I was 23. a motorcycle group found me living on the streets and in a car during the winter in Chicago. They pulled money together and put me up in a hotel for months while they pushed through my VA paperwork so I could get a rating and get enough money to not be on the street anymore. If it hadn't been for those two groups of people I don't know what would have happened. Sometimes it's hard to find perspective, other days it's really loud. Thank you everybody for your kind words.

I knew a homeless man who was a really nice person. I gave him my spare money once, he thanked me and from that day we were like friends. One day I told him "I will bring you a surprise tomorrow". The next day, when I came, he just wasn't there. Later that day I found out he died in the hospital (skin cancer). From that day I decided to help any homeless person I meet. What I wanna say with this is, you shouldn't ignore these who need help. Sometimes even a good talk can brighten their mood. :) RIP Tadeas McClellan, you were a good guy.

The simple fact that after you gave him the money he went and got food for both of you. That shows just how much Mark has a heart and how just a small gesture from one person can make a difference and he wanted to share that difference with you however brief it may have been. Not all homeless people are the type the news constantly blares into your eyes and ears daily. Some have just given up on life and have no direction to go so they stagnate. They could have exhausted all of the help they can get for that time frame and lost hope on everything. Homeless shelters rarely give the type of help that is truly needed for someone to get off the streets. The true bums will show themselves soon enough and those that truly want to improve their situations will stick it out and show that they are worthy of the help. Having been homeless a few times myself I know the situation all to well and it is rough even if you do have a job and working to save money to get a place you can afford to live in. The cops want to run you out of town or arrest you over stupid shit and everyone else that walks by looks down upon you because of the lies told to them by the news and politicians.

So I have a story which relates to this Video. I was travelling through San Antonio. There was a local Church which came to the area where many homeless people tended to congregate. The Members of this Church Ministered to them on the street, first with a sermon and then with hot food. I listened to the Sermon and then watched as the food was being distributed. The homeless people were very well behaved and extremrly appreciative of this kindness by the Church. The line of people waiting for their food kept getting shorter until there were only two people left at the end of the line. As fate would have it, as the next to last person approached the table for food there was only enough for one dinner left, but still there was one person waiting for their food. I saw something which I will never forget. Both of the last two people on the line were clearly down on their luck and both looked like they really needed some food. However, when the next to last person realized that there wouldn't be enough for both of them, they took the food that was meant for them and gave it to the person behind them. A truly inspiring act of Kindness, from which we might all take a lesson...

As a young man with 3 of my friends in Detroit we got 3 LOADED pizzas, hot wings and more beer and walked home. On the way we passed this old guy , kinda rough looking, and we didn't say a word, we looked at each other and headed over with food in hand. We ended up there for 2 1/2 hours eating and drinking beer with this man, man that fought for our country in WWII. Next day my friend who's tight with his church came to this homeless WWII vet and welcomed him to the church and a job cleaning for a place to live. That was in 1988, in 2005 he passed. He was forgotten for countless years untill 4 hungry guys with pizza happen to see him. You don't have to try and save the world, but you can't turn a blind eye on it. Try with just a smile to some one that needs it today, never know, you could better someone's life easier than you could imagine.
