Was almost in the Front for the Scorpians but ran out of air and almost passed out. Saw VH from the back. What a carefree day. Everyone had water spray bottles and every girl got sprayed in the chest and NO ONE got mad or upset. People refer to that event today as the US Festival Like USA. But back then we called it the US Festival-Like "Us and Them". Still have my tattered souvenir shirt !

I was 23. Hung out across the freeway the night before. Drank , smoked and snorted everything I could get my hands on but still had plenty of smoke left for the concert. Unfortunately one of my "friends" who was holding my stash decided there wasn't enough to share and failed to show up at the designated spot we chose in case we got separated. Luckily some fellow Simi Vallians (I grew up there) had plenty of smoke and shared some with me and the one friend who didn't ditch me. I too came close to passing out before Van Halen finally hit the stage (back pain) but I saw them from just off the stage on the right side. Had my cheap parking lot acquired T shirt until about ten years or so ago when I moved across the country with what I could carry in my SUV. What really pisses me off about the incident was I paid everyone's tickets, T shirts, gas, food and party supplies. I should of gotten a ride home and left those assholes in the parking lot without gas or gas money to get back to Lancaster.
