Done in one take and nearly cut from the movie entirely, this is definitely the best song in the whole movie.

I read somewhere that the director wanted to do it in one take and they did it over and over and over again, someone always blowing it at some point. They were about to give up and go to multiple takes when they decided to try it one last time. And it worked. Everyone go through it with no gaffs and it made it into the final cut.

I seriously doubt it was one take.....
@sophiemeade3044 жыл бұрын
@@motorcitymanman7711 it was definitely one take. The scene has no opportunity to make a natural cut especially with the technology of the day. The movement of the camera is easy but not physically cutting the strips of film and gluing them back together in a manner which seems natural. Although if you see something I'm missing that would create an opportunity to do so you can always give me a time stamp to prove me and the others wrong. Just remember this movie was edited by hand and not with the help of modern editing software on computers creating different challenges.

Agreed. People rightly point at the barn-raising sequence as one of the best ever, but this is great in the opposite direction, all sexual tension and down-playing. It's as perfect as the barn scene is.

i love the old painted backdrops mixed in with the real foregrounds a lot better than todays green screen backgrounds
@DoubleDogDare545 жыл бұрын
They actually wanted to shoot it on site but the movie studio was dumping all their cash into "Brigadoon". So they cut the budget for 7B47B to the bone, resulting in the painted backdrops and the dresses for the girls being made from quilts scrounged at Salvation Army. To the shock of the studio "Brigadoon" was a monumental flop and 7B47B was a smash hit and nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars the following year.
