Yes, the theme for "Good, Bad, and Ugly" by Ennio Morricone. Both movies are exceptionally good, but my vote for "Best Western" is "Good, Bad, and Ugly" for its great 3 man showdown and the way the tension builds with the music. "Magnificent Seven" is 2nd best western with "Shane" as perhaps 3rd best.

Love the way this has been edited, images in sync with character reaction/movement---shooting, looking up, moving left to right & vice versa---in sync with the beats from Bernstein's wonderful iconic theme. Very impressive work. And of course, Steve McQueen gets the final shot with a smile, which alludes to how Yul Brynner got annoyed with McQueen trying to upstage him in every scene. Apparently, years later, they made peace with McQueen apologizing & thanking Brynner for getting him in the movie.

I saw this film on the big screen with dad, mom and my brother and sister one beautiful afternoon. These are the movies, Hollywood studio movies that we all miss, epic, family movies, truly entertaining and profoundly educational without pushing any social agenda. A movie that can be watched again and again, like we watch our favorite piece of painting or sculpture or read our favorite novel. Great values, great acting, great music, great script, great film making. I just lament that new generations don’t have the privilege of these kind of family movie experiences, at the cinema.

@@GarethColquhoun I'm not so sure about that. Fuqua's Magnificent Seven is not exactly a remake of this film as it is another Seven Samurai reimagining. (Though Fuqua's casting is magnificent, he does skimp a little on the tone. I feel the gray nature of Seven Samurai was somewhat retained in the original Magnificent Seven, yet quite lost in the new one)

I saw this in the theatre when I was 8 yrs old. I fell in love with Horst Buchholz at 8 yrs old. 🥰 My mother fell in love with Brad Dexter’s eyes.🥰I remember her saying how beautiful they were while watching the movie. Yule Bryner was THE MAN with that commanding walk/stride. My brother wanted to be Steve McQueen and my parents had to immediately buy him toy but realistic looking guns and rifles. -- and my poor father had to keep getting up in the theatre to replenish our popcorn, candy and Coca Colas. What a great childhood we had -- my brother and I -- and all of the kids in my average middle class neighborhood. We had no responsibilities except having fun, playing outside during the day and board games on weekend nights, sleep overs on Fridays and Saturdays and school during the week. All good kids and parents. They watched out for us all. If there is a God please take me back. I’m completely done with this world in 2022.
