@@britt6184 aster (ἀστήρ) means star (among like several other things) in ancient greek, and -ion (-ῑ́ων) is used in a few ways, including as a diminutive suffix. so you get asterion, which is a name shared by a bunch of figures in greek mythology, including THEE minotaur (in crete, anyway). i THINK it's slightly more accurate to say his name means starry, but im not rlly an expert lmao.

In this playthrough I have had to reject Laezel (damn she comes on hard haha), Gale (several times because apparently he wants to be really sure I’m not into him), Karlach (who came to my bed and told me she wanted to “ride me” and I was like “damn girl!”), Wyll (who seems to just want to dance with me), Shadowheart (turns out “share a bottle of wine” is a euphemism, but I just thought she wanted to have a drink together 🤦‍♀️), and I’m romancing Astarion. My first play through the only ones even remotely interested were Gale and Astarion 🤷‍♀️ Karlach shot me down so hard haha

all my companions have really have approval, ended up romancing shadowheart since astarion rejected me in act 1 and I'm pretty sure I'm too deep into act 2 for anything to trigger. had to reject gale and lae-zel though

For future ref during another playthrough, if you have high enough rep with Shart, even if you're just friends and not trying to date her, you can just keep quiet in that scene entirely and not have to persuade her to not use her spear.

Yeah, the Lae'zel thing is pretty heart wrenching. It only comes if you're trying to romance one of the later characters or Astarion, otherwise it's potentially just a fling (Strangely she's able to get into Astarion's pants easier than the player...)
