Fun fact, if you DON'T romance Astarion by this point, aka had the smex and saw his back scars proper, the scene with Raphael goes different. You can ask "What scars?" to which Raphael makes the snide comment of "Huh, never did the dirty? So unlike you..." or something like that then strips him to just his pants/shoes to "Show" the party. Never have I wanted to strangle a fictional NPC more.

I hate him so much. My only consolation is that when you do the cheese method to get his armor, you beat him down without him able to do a thing and then the rest of the game he has only 1 hp and a bruised face for every cutscene. Like you both know why he looks like that but he refuses to accept it actually happened

@@Ms.Moss. me and some friends accidentally stun locked him and beat the shit out of him in Act 1, he then proceeded to bug out and keep teleporting behind us in an attempt to trigger the cutscene, but it just never happened. we all jokingly call it the creepypasta run.

It depends on your approval and how much you long rest. He's always in my party whether I romance him or not, and every single time, I've gotten the scene where he asks you to draw his scars so he can see them (or just straight up translate them if I'm playing a tiefling) in act 1. You don't need to romance him to get that scene. I've never had a character not see them by act 2, so that's interesting to know... and also makes me want to strangle Raphael even more :')

I feel you, so bad. That fight in the inn, if Isobel is taken, is absolute bullshit. You have to kill EVERYBODY, including all the Tiefling refugees (if) you saved them in Act 1. I also loaded my game to make sure I didn’t have to slaughter everyone of those innocent people on my "good boy" dragonborn druid. Honestly one of the few moments I have experienced that genuingly makes me feel bad and miserable. Not to mention it being BS, having to fight 20 or so people, but I digress.

I'm right there with you. No joke, but I actually dropped a 70 hour run of the game after realizing that a decision I made in the first hour meant that none of the children (except for Mol) survived to make it to the Last Light Inn.

After failing that fight a couple times, I found out that you can just talk to the Harpers out front and go get the lantern without having Selune's blessing. So you never have to deal with the attempted kidnapping if you don't want to.

What got me most was that I spent all this time and exploring to get infernal metal, desperately tried to give it to Dammon or anyone else, did the story in the inn BEFORE seeing Dammon outside and then I'm forced into killing him and all my extra loot is now just dead in the water. I only really noticed how incredibly annoying it was, when I saw other people play and realized that you DON'T canonically have to lose literally every NPC in the area and you actually get like 4 armor pieces for free from the guy. Usually these little moments of "oh you were too late/oh this happened" consequences lead to more fun on replays, but yes, in this case it's mostly just frustrating.

The worst part for me is how there is literally no indicator that you will have to fight. I mean, I guess thats the point, but as someone who always tries to long rest as little as possible and conserve my ressources it took me by complete surprise and just threw me into this big fight with almost no ressources left. I dont mind actions having consequences, but that whole sequence seems to be designed to screw over new players.

I lost the Isobel fight and IMMEDIATELY reloaded too when I saw what happened to everyone. Absolutely not on my watch that's happening. I did that fight about 3-4 times before I got it (had to change who was on my party to just keep Isobel from getting damaged.)

They even fixed in a early patch yet it is tricky still

I've found that it's helpful to keep healing Isobel throughout the fight since they all target her. Just plop a cleric (like Shadowheart) with the Spirit Guardians spell and holding Lathander's Blood right next to Isobel, and the ghouls can end up blinded by the aura from the weapon and shredded to pieces by the Spirit Guardians spell.

I just flooded the room with as many summons as I could so that it would always be my turn My character was a Spores Druid and I brought Astarion as an Arcane Trickster Rouge, Shadowheart as a Life Cleric, and Karlach as a Berzerker Barbarian so I had at that point Dryad +Dryad’s Summon, Scratch, Mage Hand, Spider, Fungal Zombie, 2 Flaming Spheres, 2 Skeletons, and a Spirit Guardian all lined up and ready to annihilate the enemy

1:25 Yeaa, I remember that part. I was the frontline that had every single one of them on my ass. I was hacking away with polearm mastery and when I killed one, "Cull the weak" kicked in, hurting everyone around it with it's own self detonation. Creating a doubled chain reaction of the self-destruct and cull the weak. There was no saving throw, Only 10 corpses in a crater.

Loosing the fight at the Last Light Inn was one of the most memorable moments i've ever experienced in video games. It was such an emotional gut punch of a twist i decided to keep it as a pivotal moment for my character. It's what made my fairly selfish Bard go "Ok, that is just Evil! It's not about saving my own skin anymore. It's about saving everyone from the Absolute".

I love how streamers have to be proud enough to say "nope, that didn't happen" with the Isobell fight (we all did that on our first run, don't lie) It's the one part of this game I think its genuinely unfair with the players choice, especially if you just went upstairs to talk to her as you were told I get that its suppose to be unexpected and a lot of people would've met the traitor because he's the guy who vouches for you if Mol/the Harpers you saved aren't there; But the consequences are just way too high to just ride on 1 difficult fight (which does make it a very tense fight, admittedly)

I do believe that it’s completely fine to surprise us with a big fight, but when Isobel is such a drooling moron when it comes to battle tactics and her death locks you out of several allies, quests and characters, it becomes a completely unfair and upsetting fight that I dread going through.

Seeing how you’re doing the Shadowlands arc, when you get to the Gauntlet of Shar, are you going to let Shadowheart spare the Nightsong or let Shadowheart kill her? (Tip: if Shadowheart’s approval rating is either very high or exceptional, pick the trust Shadowheart and do nothing option and Shadowheart will spare the Nightsong without persuading her to do so, which is a very difficult roll since it’s 30 meaning you might want to keep you inspirations to make sure you get the 30 dice roll a try.)
