The question is, "What is it?" It kind of has a feel, to me, of someone who saw cool stuff at a tournament, and compiled the coolest looking things into a sequence of performance. This is not a legit form, from a real lineage.

Kung Fu & Tai Chi Center w/ Jake Mace Sifu Mace, I thought Lan Jie Quan which means "Intercepting Fist" was the Mother form to Tang Lang Quan. The Northern Shaolin Long Fist or Changquan comprises of the Taolu ChaQuan, HuaQuan, PaoQuan and of course HongQuan. Am I wrong? Is this form Contemporary Wushu or Traditional Wushu?

There's no such thing as Kung Fu kata. Kata is Japanese. Why are you using the word kata to describe a Chinese form?

If you listen to the video, you will hear Mr. Mace calling it a form or Tao Lu OR KATA. He is just trying to reach all practicioners as well as using the word as a KEY word for search engines. One thing you learn as a practioner is listen with an open mind and to be respectful. If you are a practioner, you should know this. Represent your school and Sifu with honor friend. Be mindful of your words.

srg914 hey hey hey, calm down everybody! Whether you say kata, or tao, or taolu, or form, or dance it's all the same. Kata is the most recognized word in the English language for martial arts sequence! If you read my video description you will always see that I include multiple terms for the word sequence or form. I will continue to use the word Kata, just like I will continue to use the word bo staff, just like I will continue to use the words martial arts! I speak English as my primary language and I will use the most common terms available in order to teach people the best way.

If you really want to learn long fist.or northern shaolin Find a teacher with a real lineage. There are 100's in the US . Starts with YMAA tgey gave tons of books free videos on KZbin . My problem with shaolin do guys or product of shaolin do like jack mace is that they copy forms from books ,seminar , and DVDs, and never acknowledge the source. They add the material to the original Jintao taught by the founder who pretended to have learn from a shaolin monk ( B.s.). It takes around 6 - 12 years to properly learn long fist , let alone teach it. If you want to learn kung fu find someone with a verifiable lineage. Anyone who pretends to have learn trai chi from shaoli monk 50 years ago in Indonesia is a liar

Why did you put yourself in this situation? Chang Quan is one of the most well know styles of kung fu there are, even their basics Tao lu are know for beign "olimpic" forms. Beign that said, is much more easy to spot a fake Chang quan Taolu. Why didnt you say that this is a "secret, forbiden form only thaught in the darkest, deepest temples in China, that only your Sifu learn, from a monk in his death bed...or death Taolu", that way, you can call this, dont know, wolf style kung fu, and make everithing up
