Hey i've been doing a lot of hill sprints and bounding workouts. Any tips on practicing my consistency during these exercises thatll translate to my runway approaches? would i benefit from counting my steps and aiming to hit the same mark or should i just wait until i start using an actual runway. thanks in advance

+Sean Wilson to get a better runway approach is to practice your runway approach. Hill runs and bounding are great but runway improvement is done on the runway

I long jump doing the hang technique I have no problem jumping it’s just I run too inconsistent and end up scratching big jumps like last meet I scratched a 25 and a 24’4” and only marked a 23’6” but they were all toe scratches and I use 16 step approach instead of 18

I was always taught 16 steps. Is there a major difference?
@keinanbriggs6 жыл бұрын
No, however there is a rhythm I look for and it equates to speed. Most professional jumpers take between 18-21 steps. I feel there is a reason behind it. I like 14 or 18 depending on the level jumper.

keinan briggs Start from the pit and count steps? (Ex: I count 7 to 8 right steps )
@e-man67817 жыл бұрын
Wait I get it. Count from pit and mark the 12th step.
@keinanbriggs7 жыл бұрын
+E-Man go to 120 feet then run down the runway. Have someone tell you where you land when you 12th and 18th step lands
