Coach Kimmy, this is the first time I've ever watched you and i really like the way you explain how to cut hair you give very good advice that i can understand and follow. I am subscribed and i like it! I don't believe that the ones in the comments actually paid attention to anything that was being said or what was really going on in Coach Kimmy's video because they're saying Kimmy cut way too much. I'll explain, the girl hadn't had a haircut for a long time and with her hair being as thick as it is Kimmy had to thin it out. So yes Kimmy cut alot of her hair but most of what Kimmy was cutting was the parts in between, aka thinning the girls hair. And it DID look very good. If you watch all the way to the very end after Kimmy styles the girls hair you would be able to see the actual end result. And it is Gorgeous!!! ❤❤❤

@@coach-kimmy Thank you for the reply. I'm 68yrs old, disabled, and in bad health. My boyfriend of 23yrs recently passed. He left me with no home, being evicted by his sister & her son. I must leave everything I own, behind. I understand, they are just "things" but being so ill myself, I have no clothes that fit. Went from XL/1X-to possibly a medium. I've been in the hospital since the 11th, explained to dr I must be discharged on Tuesday. My son, ex-husband and grandson asked me to move in with them across country (Pennsylvania to Washington State) going to be difficult. Saddened by things that must be left behind. Angry, that a man that loved me, left me to struggle. I, could never, put anyone in that situation, let alone someone I loved for 23yrs. I'm very scared. 1st time with no car, (the sister and nephew "basicly" stole my car) I, could have ar least sold it for a bit of cash, to help me through. I'm "hoping" the box from a nearby store, (just enough clothes to get me through, till settled in Washington) 🙏 My hair started thinning in my early 50's (before menopause) now, at 68yrs old, (post-menopause) my hair, extremely thin (embarrassing) I have no way or means to even cut it very short. At the length it is now, I can't handle it. Anyway, thinking of you, and thank you, for understanding. I'm very appreciative to my son, ex, and grandson for taking me in. I apologize for spilling my heart out, to you, please, forgive me?

I have been to 3 salons trying to get this cut! I explained it, showed pics- but i didnt know what to call it. Twice i ended up with a bob and some layering. When i told one of them i wanted a cut like Farah Fawcett's, she said : "WHO?" 4Real! The last cut- #3- texturized my long, thick wavy hair so much, it just goes frizzy in the humidity (im in the south). So i ended up with an angled bob kind of thing with some layers on the side- long layers- like The Rachel- but frizzy. I have my mom's beautiful thick wavy hair that I keep longish, to the collarbone. I don't use a blow dryer; I just let it do it's thing. I told her this, but she used a blow dryer and to my amazement- a straightener! That's when i put my glasses on. Washed it as soon as i got home. Right now my hair is saying WTF?!? So now I will just let it grow, and am sending the next one- #4- this video!! Thank u Kimmy! I felt crazy asking for layers like Farah, etc and never getting them! I felt like I must be speaking an alien language! You've already made my New Year happy! (Its NYsEve) Thank u Thank u Kimmy!🎉🥳🤸♀️👑👈

I’m in my 70s and I have really thick hair. I have shared your exact same story so many times, and I am amazed at how many people work in high end salons charging 100 bucks for a haircut and I have no idea what they are doing. I have never seen anyone lighten hair up by doing the techniques used in boy you can tell she was exactly what she’s doing. People also get upset if I ask them to watch part of the video that I bring in to show them what I want. I often feel that most stylus do not listen to their clients even though they pretend to and actually end up doing what they think they want or what is easiest with that day. Good luck In the new year and hopefully we can find someone like this girl

I'm a stylist (43 yrs this year ) and a salon owner, too. I work alone. Since my last stylist left, a few years ago, I have no one to cut my hair. I go months between haircuts because no one knows how to long layer hair. I end up hacked up and have to fix it myself over the course of a few months. I like a shorter top but full, layered sides that I can blow out or scrunch or let aor dry My days are long, 7- 730am start to whenever I finish 12 - 14 hour days. I don't have much time in the morning to fuss. I do alot of this hair cut you're doing. I love to texturize. Gives hair so much movement. I do alot of point cutting as well but much deeper. I gave up the notching sheers years ago and customize per client. Great haircut.

I agree with some of you other commenters. I feel like she was scissor happy. I feel it would have been a beautiful cut/look for the customer if it were left thicker & longer. I am a female & go to a male hairdresser. He does exactly what I ask. I feel the majority of women I have gone to previously have been to clip happy. Even when I ask them beforehand not to cut length off. I'll ask for a quarter inch off trim, & get 3 inches cut off . When I ask why they did that, inevitably, I hear the same thing..."It needed it". I feel even tho "it needed it", it's not what I asked for & I'm the one paying. So happy I found my perfect hair stylist! 🙏🏻❤️

@coach-kimmy I've been wearing mine in an inverted bob for the past 4 months. My hair has started getting thin & I believe it had a lot to do with me wearing it in a pony tail all the time so I got it cut short enough that I'm not able to put it in a pony tail in hopes of it helping it to thicken back up a little. Also taking vitamins too. I think it's starting to help!

Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 It's great to hear that you're taking proactive steps to care for your hair. An inverted bob is a stylish choice, and it's smart to avoid ponytails if they're causing thinning. Vitamins can definitely help, and it's wonderful that you're already noticing improvements. Keep up the good work, and remember, healthy hair is a journey. If you have any questions or need more tips, feel free to ask. Your hair journey is important, and I'm here to support you! ❤️❤️

You know your stiff girl ! Wow! Great work. I love how you did this woman's hair. I have very thick hair and am almost 70 yrs old so I have had many many different hair cutters . It's very very hard to get one that really knows how to work with my hair. Only found 3 in my whole life time. Beautiful job. You know your stuff 😊

I cannot believe how much I learned watching this video. What a stunning haircut brilliantly executed. I was holding my breath at the amount you looked as though you were cutting off, but it was really understanding what you’re saying about the thinning out sections. What a beautiful brilliant, cut, absolutely gorgeous, timeless, timeless, absolutely beautiful

The end cutting result was great!. A lot of hairdresser’s could learn a lot from this hairdresser’s cutting skills. Putting the mousse in the lady’s hair scrunching it a little and a light blow dry just made the end result look AMAZING. The actual difference “ Before” and “After”, was just BRILLIANT!. The cut was so good and taking extra weight out of the bangs and fringe made all the difference. The hairdresser had made sure whether it was really necessary to do that and she made the right decision to do it in the end. Because the cut was the most important part of the job , she didn’t just dive in and do it she took her time to make that call. A lot of hairdresser’s nowaday’s really don’t do such a great job. I find the more mature hairdresser is the more skilled they are at their job, because of their many more years of experience. That’s only my opinion. I could definitely tell that she was absolutely fantastic she did an excellent job on that lady’s hair. She looked wonderful and was so happy with her new style. It may have been a style from the 80’s, but like fashion comes and goes only to return again so do hair styles. They come, go for a few years then return every thing is in decreasing circles in life really. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her at her job and found it very interesting. Well done to her.

Great cut! You obviously know what you're doing. Even if she doesn't blow it out like that every day, it will still look really cute with her natural curl. If she doesn't want to take the time to blow it out or doesn't have the skill, she can always use a hair tool that makes styling it really easy. The are some great ones out there.

That's the cut I've been trying to get for over a year. I haven't found anyone that understands. I call that feathering, not sure it's right. I have fine hair and have thinning spots but still want that haircut. You are amazing.
@coach-kimmyАй бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! ❤️Feathering is indeed a technique that can add texture and volume, especially beneficial for fine hair with thinning spots. It's all about creating a soft, layered look that enhances your natural hair texture. If you're considering trying this style, make sure to communicate clearly with your stylist about the look you want to achieve. Feel free to share my video with them for reference! Keep embracing your unique hair journey, and remember, you're amazing too! ❤️❤️💇

This hairdresser is excellent. Her cutting technique is superb. My Auntie was a hairdresser for 56 years. She was trained from the age of 14!. And still kept cutting, colouring, highlighting, low lighting, perming, rolling and blow drying hair until she was 70!. She was also able to style hair by pinning it up. What she called actually “ Dressing” the hair. Which in its self an art, she used to always be up to date on all the latest cutting techniques, the latest colours, latest every thing. She even went on courses to learn all the things that had obviously changed over the many, many years that she had been doing her job. And she was a phenomenal hairdresser. It may look to every one that the hairdresser is scissor happy. But as my Auntie said, a good hairdresser will take their time and will give the illusion that they are practically scalping you. But they are not, they are excellent at their job when they do the cutting this way. Because not only is she cutting away, but at the same time she is measuring the hair chipping into it and pointing it, she is also thinning the hair to take the weight out of it. Making sure this lady’s hair is going to look fanastic. My grandfather was a barber for 64 years, he had his own barber shop. He too began training at the age of 14 and was still cutting hair at the age of 78!. In those days youngster’s that wanted to become barber’s and hairdresser’s they were trained from the age of 14. I also have cousin’s that are well established hairdresser’s . In fact the majority of my family were barbers and hairdresser’s It’s a very highly skilled job. And they all style hair to pristine perfection.

So nice to see an actual beautician! If you ask for a layered cut these days... people have no clue what they're doing. They don't know face shapes, hair texture nothing! Most of these stylists went to school and got their license online during covid... NO real experience and like everything else they've cut the exam considerably! Yet these people charge 250 for a hair cut and wash and they're afraid of doing it or hack it!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! 😊 I'm thrilled to hear that you love the costume and haircut. It sounds like you're really passionate about achieving that fabulous 80's layered style! Here's a little tip: when you visit your stylist, you might want to bring a few specific photos or even a short video clip from my channel to show exactly how you want the layers to look. Sometimes, seeing the movement and length in action can help your stylist understand the look you're going for. Remember, it's all about communication and finding the right stylist who gets your vision. I'm sure you'll rock that style beautifully! Keep me posted on your hair journey!❤️😊

I think you're *AMAZING* !! Here in South Africa, *no one* can cut my hair like that even though I tell them I want layered hair everywhere. I think I have #2 curly hair (saw it on Google). They keep cutting it straight across (left to right) in two layers at the back😭 and then my hair is too big at the bottom, flat on top, making the triangle look, making me look much older, even though I said no triangle look! I have a long face so I think what you are doing would work perfect with my face. God bless you.❤
