Long-Range Infrared Maritime Surveillance

The Ventus HD6-0.6 stands out as a groundbreaking innovation in terrestrial surveillance technology, engineered to excel in precision, power, and reliability where it matters most.
The Columbia River presents a formidable challenge for navigation, known as one of the most treacherous waterways globally. Despite its hazards, successful passage unlocks access to numerous inland ports handling an average of 40 million tons of cargo, valued at a staggering $23 billion annually.
Our deployment of a Long-Range Infrared Camera System aimed to capture footage of these imposing vessels as they journeyed from the Pacific Ocean. We were thrilled to achieve visual confirmation of distances up to 60 km from our base. Throughout the day, we diligently tracked one such vessel from its initial sighting until it passed beneath the Astoria Bridge, continuing to its designated port.
The utilization of infrared technology for security and surveillance purposes offers invaluable insights, particularly in challenging maritime environments like the Columbia River Bar.
