You are SO LUCKY you were not pickpocketed! I love SJ but you must be very careful--I am a fan of the body bag or a bag around the neck that tucks into your shirt. Also, think about a pair of high end flip flops (yeah, I know, but the thick ones aren't bad and they pack easily). Don't let the delays etc., put you off visiting again, and maybe think about expanding your trips to other Caribbean/Mexican locales. Why not? It's fun YT content and a mini-holiday while at work! We love the cats--keep showing them!

Steve, so happy you experience the island both my parents were born and raised in. I've been to the Island many times myself. But, when you said you were going to catch an Uber to Old San Juan, my husband and I both scream, Nooooo! You're already in Old San Juan 😆We're also disappointed you didn't try any of the delicious food in the area. Glad things work out for you in the end.

Omg too funny there was a bride taking photos. When I first saw the staircase in the beginning my first thought was how beautiful it would be to have a bride walk down it. Haha didn’t know if that was a thing, if they had ballrooms or whatever for a wedding/reception.

Very funny story time where lives connect. In your video when you are down by the waterfront near where the cats are your viewing the back side of fortressa. There was a group taking photos. When I saw you were in San Juan I knew this video would be full of cats! My partner is Puerto Rican and has family on the island so it has become our happy place. We spend most of our time in the mountains in a small country town but OSJ is fun too. Cats everywhere! In the country it's more stray dogs than cats but both are all over and I want to bring some home every time we visit. What a fabulous day you had!

Well at least you found out before leaving San Juan. I left my phone in an Uber and probably had a mini heart attack. I got it back thankful but proving who you are when your phone is literally your id is difficult. What a cliff hanger!

Oh what a lovely hotel! I had a not-so-lovely experience in one of my own hotels last week, the room was fine but being charged daily for beverages I never purchased was not. First world, I know, but that experience will give me more empathy for guests who have billing issues for sure!

That happened to me once. After that, whenever there was a stocked fridge, I had the hotel (or cruise employee) remove the items for sale. Apparently, there's a sensor on the fridge that records the door being opened even if you just touch the fridge...and a charge is applied. Awful.

Ohmygoodness! What an ending to that trip!! How stressful. Glad you tracked down your wallet! I'm w you, in my day, "queer" had such negative connotations. I chose not to use it. Gay is more comfortable. Interesting walk, pass on all those tunnels. That art gallery looked awesome!! The luminescent water would be a pretty trip in the future. Look into it! You should definitely do Bioluminescent Bay! The water glows. Only 5 locations in the world that have that. You should also go to El Yunque (rainforest). I love Puerto Rico!!!

Steven, ooooh, I just cringed for I u when u said the passport was on the shuttle. Eager to see how you got back to LAS. As for SJU, F9 opened its new base there this month, and I see that B6 WILL open a base there. So hope you got back to B and E in good time, my friend. Re your discomfort with QUEER, I have exactly the same crawling of the skin with that word. The connotation is that something is wrong or perverse or strange. And there is nothing wrong or perverse or strange about our sexual preference. What it is is NATURAL. Am fine with gay or homosexual, but ‘queer’ - NO. One hopefully happy thought about all the delays besides pay protection is that per diem oughta be through the roof for this pairing. Take care and love to all 3 of you. Herman

For snorkeling: if your mask floods with your mustache, you might try some vaseline on it instead of needing to shave! That can work even for scuba divers at depth :)
