The best video I've found on the topic and I keep coming back to it. Thank you so much for making this, it has been invaluable to me! :)

When I learned this bind off from Cheryl Brunette she teaches to always go under the needle and to drop the purl stitch off the needle. It helps me to do it that way since I have more control over the tension. When you leave it on the needle you have less space to work so it gets tighter as you go. So if you think the bind off is getting too tight to work just try dropping the purl stitch each time.

Hello Annie, I don't know much about knitting. Trying to get the hang of it. However I needed to say that your method of sewn bind off is pretty smart and looks real neat. I will definitely try it once i can finally finish an item lol. Thank you kindly for postiing this video!

I need help. I make scarves using a single-rib stitch. I've tried several bind off techniques, but no matter which one I use the end of my scarf always ends up more far more stretched out than the start. I've even resorted to using a needle two sizes smaller than normal to do my bind offs, but there's no difference.

If your cast on is a long tail cast on, this bind off will exactly replicate the cast on for you. You do still have to pay attention to tension, but it’s the most consistent bind off I’ve found.

Hi there! In my experience, knitted bind offs are both bigger and less stretchy than the cast on. I wondered about this for years until I realized that a cast on (specifically long tail) cannot be duplicated if it is knit. It can only be sewn. This is due to how, with knitting, a loop is being taken through each stitch instead of a single unconnected strand of yarn. Did you try this method? It does take effort to get the tension down, but it should work for you.
