I recently started having a long-term collections bujo. I have some of the same spreads as what is in yours, but also some like an overall budget I want to try to stick to, a savings tracker, my ideal routines for in the morning, afternoon and evening, yearly reviews, notes on books that I really want to be able to reference etc. I have split it up in sections using tabs because I want to keep themed things together. The first half is for my reflection/goal setting/personal development and the second half is more for reading lists, recipes, podcast episodes, notes on books and podcast episodes. I usually use sticky notes to save pages for topics I know want to put in, but which I don't feel like creating at that moment. Love your videos! Looking forward to seeing your new collections journal.

I definitely agree about the paper color. I much prefer bright white instead of that cream color. In my long term collections - I put a list of my fave tv shows as a kid, restaurants I used to love that are no longer in business and bullet journal mock-up spreads of one I know that I will use or have used besides the usual spreads. Can’t wait to see this new video!

I really like this idea. I had heard you mention this book in other videos and questioned the point but now I’ve seen it it makes absolute sense! I am going to set one up for myself too - thank you for the inspiration Jess. Things which come to mind are mental health pages, Skillshare classes to do and my “one thing to learn a week” spread are the first which come to mind :D

I actually put things like my weekly reset, monthly reset, and year-long trackers in there. During the year I switch bujo often (March and September), so it's nice to have things like my twenty 21's in 2021 in a collections journal rather than my daily since I'd have to transfer it twice (at the very least). Swatches also go in there, both of pens and washi. This cause some of my washi is quite see through and I like to know if I can still see dots through it (half of them I can). My year in pixels also goes in the long-time collection's, just cause it crosses multiple journals otherwise. I have my collection journal split into 3 categories: yearly (for all the trackers), lifetime (resets, manuals on how to do things, cleaning routines etc.) and swatches. Each year passing I make a cover for that particular part. So far mine has covered 4 years. As for the swatches being a different color: I've actually always just taken a page from my paper (of my daily journal) and pasted it into my collections journal.
@JashiiCorrin
@JashiiCorrin 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was thinking of that as a solution; the taking paper from one and using it in the other 🤔 I like the idea of daily/yearly/lifetime 😮 that’s a cool way to break it down! 💜

I really want to put together a journal register at some point! I saw a video from PainChaud recently, showcasing how he's planning on cataloguing 20 years worth of journals...it's really elegant and simple, and a trimmed-down version could make a fantastic addition to a long-term collections journal, I think.

I just started my first BUJO in January so I'm still playing with so many new things each month. I like this idea a lot! Thanks for sharing! Something in my BUJO that I would definitely put in a long term collections book are my craft projects ideas/techniques I want to try. I also have a list of projects that are in progress which I would probably put in there as well since I typically bounce around between them and so some end up taking ages to actually complete.

Nice video. Thank you! Love the cream colored, personally. It is easier on my aging eyes. Looking forward to seeing your new set up. Curious, how long did you have this journal?
@JashiiCorrin
@JashiiCorrin 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with the cream being easier on the eyes 😋 But I also like the way the colours 'pop' a bit more on the white-white paper 😊 I had this journal for about 2 years; kinda bummed I didn't have more in it before I decided to transfer, but at least there won't be as much to transfer...yeah? 😅 haha

A washi tape swatch page (or pages) i might have to do an LTC, as right now all my pen, pencil and washi swatches are scattered over several bullet journals. It's getting difficult remembering which is in what journal :-)
@castorj.b.1257
@castorj.b.1257 3 жыл бұрын
Scribbles have changed their paper since this book release, they now have the pure white 160gsm, just like A&O... which is a shame for those who like the cream 120, like me xD I have been thinking about starting a LTC journal, as I track my health and finances every month and like to collate those at the front of the notebook in annual pages, but I go through a new journal every 3 or 4 months so I end up redoing/migrating 'annual' spreads a lot. That said though... I really think the bujo works well for me because it's just one book at a time and I'm not having to switch between different notebooks. I think I'd end up not using a LTC. :/ So I dunno, it's a question I've been brainstorming lately.
@JashiiCorrin
@JashiiCorrin 3 жыл бұрын
Possibly worth investigating 🤔 I know my LTC bujo does get less attention that my every day one, but I still have come back to this one quite a lot over its life time to reference things 😄
@castorj.b.1257

@@JashiiCorrin I had been toying with the idea of doing my annual collections on bits of paper that attach in the front of my current bujo and can then be moved... so I still have everything in one book. I tried bujoing in a ring binder to do this, but the rings weren't working out for me. but maybe just inserting them with washi temporarily would work.

This is a wonderful idea. I would need to add a massive reading tracker, and a music catalog. Life experiences (sorry, I cannot recall your title for these items) is a fabulous idea. I’ve done some awesome things...like petting a baby gorilla being raised in our zoo’s nursery, and touching the finger of her 600 pound father when no one was looking. The baby gorilla’s hair felt like a steel wool pad. Her magnificent father put his palm against the service bars in in the back of his cage with only 1 inch between each bar. There was just enough room for me to touch his palm with my index finger. He almost “purred” in delight. He continued to vocalize and make eye contact with me for the next hour. It was a stupid thing for me to do, but I was 17 and fearless. Yes, I need to do a long term bujo. Thanks!

I describe it a bit more in my new long-term collections journal setup video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2iagHl8ppZsna8 around the 9m37s mark) but it's essentially a list of things I want to get better/upgraded versions of, or things I want to make a bit more "adult" (e.g. right now, our "coffee table" is a toybox 😋 before that it was a cardboard box, haha)

Good point on having swatches on a long term collection journal with paper different from your regular bujo would not be useful - my longterm journal is a Dingbats (100gsm, very smooth paper) while my regular bujo is STM 160gsm, obviously very different types of paper. But I still like to keep track of all of my markers and pens so I'd still be swatching on my longterm bujo. I swatch washi tape on my longterm bujo as well for tracking purposes. Other collections I have: Songs To Learn, dramas to watch, movies to watch, my statistics and thoughts on the boardgame Pandemic Legacy. These spreads were originally on my regular bujo, but when it was time for migration, I decided that it would be better to have them on a long term journal rather than having to migrate them again 6 months later (can't be bothered writing all these over again and again)
