Really been liking your videos! I know this isn't really your speciality but I thought I'd ask. Could you do a video on if there are any long term bad effects from using lip plumper, both the gloss kind and the suction kind (candylipz)? I'm wondering if these might stretch out skin over time and cause sagging down the line, or if using irritants in the glosses would cause long term effects.

I've had nose fillers for the first time because my nose has bumps on the lateral side and plus it dropped a but so with fillers I got a Tinkerbell nose lift. I'm too scared to get surgery knowing how bizarre things can often get. But it's hard to accept my natural nose sadly.

Hi, do you think that fillers can cause beside filling wrinkles - but a bit sagging of the tissues overtime due the the weight of the filler? That’s what I read concerning fat transfer when the injected fat cells dropped somewhat after 8-10 years in case of some people. Or haven’t you seen anything similar? 🤷🏻‍♀️

It is possible but it is difficult to tell how much of that effect is from filler compared to the aging process itself.
@Dandelion_flight

Not true and it is important to do research and find the best doctors. It depends on how and where the filler is injected. Often it is not that the skin has sagged but rather bone loss and fats loss to the face making it seem like it is skin sagging. So filler just replaces the bone (if injected at bone level) or the fats. A skilled doctor/nurse will know where to place the filler and which filler is best to use. I would say to educate ourselves as patients and find the best doctor/nurse you can. There are many many good ethical doctors even here on YT who makes such educational and honest videos. A good cosmetic doctor will assess your entire face and treat specific problematic areas with the entire face in mind. But I do believe there will come a point in time where ageing will really cause skin quality issues which no longer can be helped by filling and injectables. At that point, maybe about 60yo, a face lift is inevitable if one really wants to keep looking young.

I had my tear troughs filled a year ago this may. It's still there. I was told because I'm so active as i am an athlete it would all dissolve within 4 to 6 months for me. That was certainly not what happened. My question is, what to do next? It looks like it's there, but 1 eye looks better than the other? It does look flatter on my right then left. Just a little, it's very subtle. How do i know when its time to get a top-up? Wait another year? Just give up on it? I will ask my doctor, but I'm worried he might not give me an honest answer. He's very convincing an feel hes always honest with me, but he has a bit of pause because he told me it would all dissolve so quickly for me! Unless he was sarcastic, but then he didn't give me another answer. I guess he just doesn't know? He is a plastic surgeon as well.

Dr Gary, I have just done Voluma to my right buccal area to rectify the asymmetry I have. It felt a bit lumpy at first in one area but things have settled down and my buccal is back to feeling soft and nice. I really love that my face is more symmetrical now. I sometimes wonder if it is a journey of no turning back haha... but so far I am loving the decision. Ageing has definitely cause fat/volume loss to my buccal (and I never had buccal fats removed) and temple areas and makes my face look tired and gaunt especially contrasted with my huge wide cheek bones. Thanks for this video. :)

Hey Dr. Linkov, I’d be interested to know whether there might be more health issues caused by fillers than what’s portrayed in the media. What brand/type of filler is the safest? You replied earlier that there wasn’t a correlation found between auto immune diseases and filler. Is there any other risk? I really want to get one done but I already have a genetic chronical illness that causes tumors so I really don’t want extra health risks.
@comment3711

I was just looking into that myself. It usually takes 10 to 20 years for the long term effects to come out and to the forefront. Back in the day they thought silicon implants were totally safe along with the many other injectable things, treatments and meds that turned out not to be. It’s definitely something to consider before taking, especially if one has an autoimmune disease!

And that's what happens once you reach 50. Women don't seem to understand that if you get a face filled with a fat transfer or filler, it stretches the skin and then sags all over again, but worse. I've seen people get fat transfers with facelifts and after a year, the filler is gone and their face is saggier than before they had the surgery done!

@@noneofyourbeeswax2287 That doesn't make sense. If you inject a sagging area that used to be fuller, which is the case with older people, the skin plumps up to what it used to be. It doesn't stretch the skin at all, but pumps it up to where it used to be. So it won't sag more when filler goes away. It may seem so, in comparison to what it looked like plumped up, and of course, the face has aged a year so may sag a bit more because of that. Natural aging continues, even with filler. Unless the filler has stimulated the collagen, which would keep it from sagging more. If a person is young, though, and not sagging, but just wants fuller cheekbones or lips, THAT filler will stretch the skin out beyond what it's ever been, resulting in sagging skin when the filler goes away.

No causal relationship has been established between the use of filler and autoimmune diseases like dermatomyositis/polymyositis, lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma. Their use is therefore not contraindicated in patients suffering from those diseases. Or in patients with positive ANA, which is a non-specific marker.

They have brochures with upclose images of needle tips from the first poke all the way to 5 times and it obviously goes from bad after the first time to worse and barbed like crazy. Why do they not just change the needle after they poke once? I cringe everytime I see this. Is it a different type of needle thats more blunt resistant? If so I'd like to know so I don't freak out everytime I watch these youtubers getting fillers or even botox.
