Ann! So good to see you back! So sorry to hear the job hunt is so frustrating. (and I can't believe all the testing you have to do!) Here's hoping for good things very soon!! 🤞

So glad to see you back. I loved Whale fall. I read it during the tail end of my flight back home and loved it. A 10 hour flight leaves a lot of time for reading 😁 Wishing you luck on your job hunt 🤗

Gosh! Sense of righteousness and self-confidence are one of the attractions of this channel, and maybe it was a bullet dodged. Your friend has a lovely garden.

The tour was so enjoyable that I barely noticed the weather. Of course, you know all the best places to stop for food and drink. Your confidence makes you a great tour guide. I think those people made a big mistake, but as you say, maybe it wouldn't have been a good situation for you. Thanks again. I loved it all! And now I have more books to read.

Ann, I’m glad to see you are back. It does sound like you dodged a bullet at that workplace where they wouldn’t have appreciated your strengths. Best wishes going forward with your job search. Whale Fall was already on my radar and now you have increased my interest in it. Nonfiction sounds good too. May you continue to be nourished by stellar books!

Wow, we forget how crazy colourful churches were before the iconoclasts (and time) attacked them. 👩🎨 It's certainly great to have you back and to hear you speaking about books, Ann. Also great to be out and doing with different folks, lovely pics, thanks ☺️ Your interview system sounds.... interesting tho' 🤔?

I've not read that one, but I always found Julie Myerson's novels have an annoying habit of simply stopping, rather than having an actual ending. It sounds like it's heavily influenced by what happened with her drug addict son. If I remember correctly, she reported her own son to the police, which got her heavily criticised, and appears to have resulted in her not regularly appearing on book and art shows on TV anymore.

Being accused of overconfidence sounds like something that would only be told to a woman. Hope you land a great job soon

indeed. They prefer someone who’s scared all the time.
