I had a math teacher in high school who taught everything from Basic Math to Calculus and she taught it in a way that anyone could learn. The concept of the greater and less than signs always confused me but when she said they will always point to the smallest number in a true answer was something all my other teachers never taught; that simple piece of instruction was enough for a lot of people who were struggling with math classes begin to learn without struggling.

I'm not bitter, but I find it amazing how the school system completely fails to teach you how to learn. If you packed this into the curriculum I'm sure you'd save many students a lot of hassle and have them learn more in the end, even considering they'll be occupied learning these techniques for some time.

Yeh schools are shite now same deal with everyone they give zero instructions or ideas on how we could learn at home and since all they mainly do is just show us the concept and how to do it with so little time to practise especially in Math welp... we don't know how to make notes, we don't know how to study at home, we don't know jack all LOL the internet is my new home for learning now.

My English is my second language. When I’m taking notes during lecture I have to try to understand what does professor said. If there’s a new word that I didn’t understand, I consult the book and review them. This is some tips to help me a lot and make me a better note taker at any speed.
@jamesjarin1162

Why is it important to take notes while your teacher is talking? You want to take notes so that you don't have to rely on your memory. 1. Preview text. Spend 15 minutes to become familiar with the lesson that will be discussed. It will help a lot for you to follow during class. 2. Review the notes. Spend 5-10 minutes before class reviewing the notes about your previous class. One of the reasons why you should read preview text and review notes is to help in deciding which information is important. If you're ever in doubt of noting something, write it. It is better to have too many notes than fewer notes. 3. Go on a diet. Even though it is better to have too many notes than fewer notes, writing enough notes is more preferred. → Use abbreviations. Writing abbreviations can help you take notes faster. (e.g. Reconstruction = R, sounds absurd but hear me out). Using "R" for "Reconstruction" is faster but how can you identify the word? We can go back to the first point, preview text. While preparing for your next class, take note of long words, names, and etc. to track which word it is. → Leave out unimportant words. Notes during a lecture are not required to be beautiful, it will slow you down. Try leaving out unimportant words and correct your grammatical errors later on. → Supporting Details. Main ideas are always included in the notes so go on a diet with supporting details. 4. Lecture style. Know how your teacher's lecture flows to focus on which details should be taken note of. It is good to know where the important information is located, it could be in the visual aids, dictated examples, or just the explanation. → Show notes to the teacher early for evaluation. Most teachers would be delighted to see your notes, so show them and humbly ask for an evaluation. This way, the teacher can point out flaws in your notes which you can improve later on the semester which translates to better grades. 5. Use a good note-taking method. There are many kinds of methods for note-taking, but we'll do Cornell note-taking.

That's a secret to life in general, if you sound like you know what you're talking about, people will listen and not question you. Politicians, TV evangelists, and con other artists learned this technique early on in their career. I'm not saying this guy is shady, just that other people in other walks of life may be charismatic but have no clue what they're talking about.

Me too but sadly they don't hire good ppl and hire just about anybody these days cos it's more about profit than proper teaching, why i won't go back i've had a lot of bad attitudes and bullying especially from the teachers cos their boss knows i don't have money, i know now i'm more of an intelligent person like not exactly "Gifted" but more on the lower end of the spectrum i think a bit of a higher IQ which means i still have some of the quirks of associated with it, need to learn at my own pace and just don't do well in the typical system (which is a typical thing that happens). It was hinted throughout school and in college something more was going on there but nobody ever explained (had to recently do my own research to figure it out), it may explain some of the issues many of u have been having Facebook pages for the blog Crushing Tall Popping, Hodgies Gifted Education, SENG and Ted Talk videos are the best source for that, it just shows though for little they support all kinds of people out there cos they don't and won't, teachers like this guy is what all teachers need to be.
