You're the best Simon. You enjoy chess even when screwing up, like we all do. You don't fool me with your groveling. You're British, so close to Scandinavian humour. You enjoy chess and we enjoy you. You have rain, we have snow.

Welcome back, Simon. Thanks for the video. Great staff. I've learned a lot from your videos both blitz and longer games. Thank you very much. Although I have to agree with the previous comment about the mic. It does pick up the bumps when you hit the table. I don't know maybe it's just me watching with my headphones on? I don't know but it'a kind of annoying.

An interesting and instructive video. The new green screen setup worked very well, I thought. The blunder was unfortunate, but just shows how tricky it is to commentate at the same time as trying to play good moves. By the way, has anyone else noticed how often a strong player gets compensation after losing a piece?

Yo Simon Unrelated to the video: Longtime watcher here, after playing the semi-slav/slav defense pretty much exclusively against 1. d4 or c4 or nf3 for years, I've finally tried the dutch and it's amazingly fun. All this time I thought it was too weird, but it's fantastic. That's all I've got to say. Also nice dutch book.

Hey GM Williams thank you for sharing the game and your thoughts with us. I was wondering about your rating and since I have not yet watched the other videos I assume you are either climbing up the ladder as the title suggests or a victim of a cheater as might have been hinted at the beginning of the video when you said you were paranoid. By the way, I will start playing the London system and your videos have been of great help.

Thanks for this instructive game. The experience of watching it would have be x1000 times better if you weren't punching the mic throughout the recording. Please consider a suspended mic setup or a clip on mic for your future videos, or some self control :)) I think the red/gray flicker on your face is due to your authentic, 100% pure breed ginger beard. The camera can only handle so much red at one time. After your blundered you had more red in your cheeks and it stopped flickering! :D

I was wondering about Qd7 instead of h6 for black, forcing g5 while the pawn is still on h6, if you play f3 there he can again play h5 and after g5 Ng4 Bd2 he can try f5 maybe. Obviously the move itself looks very ugly :)
