Very helpful. Just wish my peony would bloom at all. We had super dry winter and late May snow. Even some spring watering could compensate for the very dry winter and spring.

Hi Duane , check if your peony is planted too deep . Hi f there is more then 2 inches of soil over the highest eye it may not bloom . Also make sure it is getting enough sun . 🤗

@@KellyLehman Can they ne planted too high?. I planted them right at the eye. So no soil over the eye. And the other one at same level as pot I bought it in.

Las Vegas. We get peonies one in a while. Can I use this dry method from a store?

If shipping out of state , can I dry cut some leaves and wrap/refrigerate them separately?

When you cut the stem, I noticed there were other bids on the stem that were not as soft. What do you do with these?

You can cut them off. I like to leave those buds on because I think it gives it a little more texture and interest.

mrs.lehman, basically a seed is a seed. is there a difference between getting seeds from the head of a sunflower vs. buying a sack of sunflower seed from my local feed store? reasoning is the initial bulk planting to build my seed need or buy several packs of heritage sunflower seed and plant a small crop to begin building selective seed from the best production heads. did i just answer my own question? thank you for your opinion.

I buy most of my peonies as plants this time of year ( June) when they are in half price sales at the garden centers .
