The Casual Guide To Hermitcraft Ettiquette, Chapter 5: Murdering Your Fellow Hermits If you wish to murder a fellow Hermit, it is considered more polite to make the event feel fun or exciting. Instead of simply sneaking up behind them and lopping their head off with a fully enchanted netherite sword, why not invent an elaborate, server-wide minigame which unexpectedly goes on for months? You could set up a shop offering a bounty for the heads of other Hermits under the guise of being an armour stand statue expert, but if that just sounds like too much work, just bribe them with a trophy and there are unlikely to be any hard feelings.

New Zedvancement: "Kill all of the hermits using a unique death" The idea here is that you kill all of the hermits, but you can only use 1 type of death for each. Rules: Your fellow hermits may not know of their impending death before it happens. Tricks and traps are your friends. If you kill multiple hermits with the same death, only 1 of those deaths count. Once a type of death is used, it can not be used again.

For the beacons that don't actually make a functioning beacon you could build a minimum beacon below it (making the real beacon a little hollow) and because beacons are a transparent block the beam will go through it and look like its a working beacon

The death messages with those options don’t also have the nameable item involved, so they end up being quite a bit shorter, even if they are longer prior to naming everything.

@@ameise1595 Sadly not. The death message can have the "while trying to escape" type messages when the actual death is from a non-mob, but the messages don't stack that way when the direct cause of death is a mob.

Because the whilst trying to escape messages are for a death by "natural causes" so the firework rocket wouldn't be the cause of death. It would instead read: " Zedaph fell from a high place whilst try to eacape [piglin's name]" (could also be a "was doomed to fall" but same principle, the named item wouldn't be the cause of death so it doesn't get included)

The method Zedaph used is the longest possibility since it both offers three options for lengthy names as well as having the longest base text. I just went and checked the wiki for more options. As if Zed hadn't already done all of this anyway. xp

@@GuestUser18 while you'd gain "whilst trying to escape," which is 23 characters, you'd lose the weapon name, "a rocketbow Zed made for the longest death message," which is 50 characters, resulting in a shorter overall message. The weapon name doesn't get used in that method.

With Doc’s poppy technology it would be possible for you to travel to the world border. Some rockets and carrots and inventory full of unbreaking wings, maybe mending and xp bottles. Zedaph to the world border

Doubt you’ll see this, Zed, but I have to say it. I love that you deeply explore the technical side of MineCraft, but still fail so hard at the simple things. Dogs, for instance. Once they are tamed, unless you make them sit, they will follow you everywhere you go, teleporting to keep up, unless you cross a wide ocean or go through a portal. They don’t require leads, unless they’re wild, or you want to dangle them. I’m not sure if tamed ones still teleport when dangled. Guess you’ll have to test that. 😁👍

Minecraft also counts assist in the death messages which can be achieved by getting hit by a mob then getting killed by another mob which adds "while fighting ". So you didn't accomplish the Zedvansment.

The "whilst fighting" and "whilst trying to escape" messages can only stack on top of non-mob deaths, so you can't get two mob names to show up in the death message. That's why this particular death message is the needed one, as it allows a mob name and an item name.

Hi zed, a really long death message you can get is if you place a floating block, fire an arrow at it using a renamed bow (50 characters) and stand underneath, punch the block out and get hit by the arrow, then get killed by a named monster (50 characters) holding a named sword (50 character's) and you get something like "zedaph was slain by a sneaky unclean monster with nothing better to do using a super slicy custom sword made entirely of wood while trying to escape zedaph using a super bendy bow with pointy flying stabby things." about 209 characters!

I’ve invented a redstone clock that I think you would appreciate. 1x1 water column in tube, soul sand below, pufferfish inside. Place a tripwire above the tube and enjoy your oddly satisfying redstone clock.

About the longest death message, idk if that's longer, but there are many other variables in the death message, like "[PLAYER NAME] burnt to crisp whilst running from [INSERT LONGEST NAME]" and you might be able to add "using [INSERTS WEAPON NAME]"

Small but lovely detail. at 15:45 you can see golden boots in Zeds item bar. He and Scar then proceed to go to Zeds base and Scar is then sporting a nice new pair of golden boots. In my opinion Zed should get a bonus achievement called 'Know Thy Neighbor'
