Here's an insane fact I found: The highest freefall with no parachute survived irl was 10.16 kilometres by Vesna Vulović. That's the equivalent of 10160 blocks, or a little over 2.25 times what Zed did! The highest freefall with a parachute is 41.42 kilometres, or 41420 blocks, or 9.2 times what Zed fell

According to Wikipedia, "She suffered a fractured skull, three broken vertebrae, broken legs, broken ribs, and a fractured pelvis. These injuries resulted in her being temporarily paralyzed from the waist down. Vulović made an almost complete recovery but continued to walk with a limp" So yeah, she was definitely on half a heart

Hi Zed you just traveled at the speed of 62.5 blocks per second. The falling down duration is 72s in total. Its one of the fastest way to travel. I love watching your content. Keep it up Zed 💖

The death jump on to a bed on a server that requires more then one person to sleep to pass the night could create a very funny trick. Imagine having a barracks of twenty beds and ninteen of them die in the morning.

Epic music plays loudly as he zooms up into the air, the screen pans out, the music pauses dramatically as Zed hovers in the air for a moment, silhouetted by the sun. Then he falls, diving towards the ground as the music ramps up again. Cut to multipe angles of his face. Cut to X. Cut to Ren. Cut back to Zedaph. And the music takes a beat off again. Bombastic, over-the-top drum strike as he lands, superhero style in a flurry of hay and purple particles. He looks up with a smirk. Cut to black.

Hmm, interesting I was thinking about how he could max out the rockets to maximize. Drink slow falling at the precise time to where the time runs out right within the 100 block mark (armor and hay). To reach the true theoretical max. I might be wrong to some extent but I'm confident you could use slow falling to go way higher

I was not expecting that large a number. I also though of a way you can increase it, but not if it violates the setup or how you would calculate the required height. Start by drinking a slow fall potion but be so high up that the potion expires while still falling.

I’m pretty sure dripstone damage is still fall damage and can be reduced by feather falling. So it would count

But getting fireballed by a ghast is different from being blown up from not removing a pressure plate in a temple. So maybe it's something like that? Or you may be right, I know very little about Minecraft damage despite being a professional at dying lol Edit: just remembered, elytra crashing damage is also different but is reduced by feather falling too, right?

Not if you wanted a specific type of death message to count but you can reduce it with a half slab on the ground since I think the calculation rounds it to the nearest full block.

Something interesting to try if you haven’t done so already: If you jump while sprinting and get in bed at just the right angle, you can actually fall out of bed and sleep on the floor.

Zedvancement idea: Kill 'em with Kindness. Kill all undead mobs (Baby Zombie, Drowned, Husk, Phantom, Skeleton, Skeleton Horse, Stray, Wither Skeleton, Zoglin, Zombie, Zombie Villager, and Zombified Pigin, plus the Wither if you're brave enough) with a splash potion of healing. If you wanted to make it harder you could try to only deal damage to them with the potions, or try and kill them all at the same time.

I had no idea you could fall that far! I think another fun Zedvancement could be something like "master transformer." Where you perform every mob transformation in the game. There are a lot. Villager to witch or zombie. Zombie to drowned or villager. Pig or piglin to zombified piglin. Wolf to dog. Skeleton to stray. Mooshroom to cow or brown mooshroom. Every color of carpeted llama. Chests on donkey/mule/llama. Snow blocks to snow golem. Creeper to charged creeper. Sheep transformed by an evoker. Turtle to wooden bowl... And others.

For the Netherite: Lava potions (easy with piglin bartering), clear-water provided by Vanilla Tweaks, and then an elytra+rockets. Jump in the Lava (in the Nether) and go for a swim. You'll find ancient debris everywhere, thank me later ;)

I'd argue that you'd still be falling while having the slow fall potion effect, which means you could fill your inventory with slow fall potions, go high enough that the effect will run out at 4.5k blocks and still land with half a heart, but from way above 4.5k blocks

Shortest fall also depends on what you're landing on - For instance landing on pointed dripstone deals damage far sooner (as most have experienced within Decked Out) than those 3.X blocks mentioned here - Meaning it could be an even shorter distance to death

A fun one could be doing every type of clutch from build height limit (boat, bucket, ladder, block, shifting on impact tick, hitting yourself with an arrow so the damage tick cancels out, pearl, hay, bed bounce, etc)

I wonder if putting a maximum duration potion of slow falling, then extending the height to 4507 blocks + however many blocks you fall by falling straight down during its duration, could also increase the cap by a lot? If i did the math right, you had about a 250 block range to start your fall from and end up on half a heart. You managed to damn near bullseye the top of that, and I think that's going to be very difficult to beat freehand. Congratulations on another spectacular feet, Zed!
