Day 9 out of 2 MONTHS! We are attempting the LONGEST JOURNEY BY TOY CAR. We have to drive toy cars from Jacksonville FL to Key West. This will take two months of driving a toy car every single day! Maybe you could add a final total at the end of each vlog? Like where you share how many miles you added in a day to the final total/record? Just so it's a way to see the progress a bit clearer? Get something to cover your battery terminals to prevent that from happening again. They probably ship with little rubber sleeves, at least on the positive (red) terminal. Anything non-conductive would work, a rubber glove, a piece of bicycle innertube, etc. Also, any auto parts store would be able to check the batteries to see if they ok. Most places do it for free.

Find a battery store near you, call and see if they have the batteries you need and if its range, go make the purchase at rhe store?

I´m so invested--I watch these as I write my final essays all the way in London. Two ideas: could the batteries have overheated and that could have contributed? Do you have a cheap GPS phone holder so you could have 2 hands free to drive, then one to eat/drink/etc. instead of one on the phone and one on the wheel? Could save a lot of time!

Hey!! Love these videos!! I have a suggestion about being at the hotels… you could try and keep them some where in the lobby of see if they have a place to put them! It looks like your two batteries made contact. One is a positive terminal and the other is a negative terminal so you technically made a short circuit. Not good.

@@Cassiearanthat or it could be that the connector in the battery compartment is loose causing it to short out. I would expect this considering the car is constantly running over a lot of bumps but also since you're frequently connecting and disconnecting the wires. Make sure the connections are FIRMLY in place when you re-connect a fresh battery. You might need to get something to crimp the connector so it holds tighter. Also, you might need to check it more frequently to make sure it's not working itself loose.

First you lose the power bank a few times and now a duckie. glad you found and saved the duckie. Curious what ended up happening with the batteries. Were you able to get more sooner or...? Hoping by now you have a fresh set and can continue your amazing journey.

The black on the batteries could be caused by loose connections on the wires in the car, as well as the chargers. Make sure when connecting these that the connections are FIRMLY in place. As the car is moving and you hit bumps it could cause the connector to loosen which would cause a spark/short. Hopefully the manufacturer support rep can help you with this. Also, you should be able to crimp or squeeze the connector with a pair of pliers to make it tighter. Be Safe!

It's best to not completely drain the battery anyway. Best to drain around 25% and charge around 80%.

Your connections are probably loss, from switch them out so much. Get a pair of pliers and squeeze them a little to tighten them back up and it should fix the problem! I’d do that on both cars every now and then!
