12 hrs at a minimum wage job is hard man, I can work all day every day at my skilled labor job, but I don't have to be nice to people. Being nice really takes your energy, trying to do every single thing they want you to do. Back when I ran cash register I could barely do 6-8hrs a day and I was exhausted. Minimum wage workers deserve a lot more than minimum wage for what they have to put up with.

@J Red But unfortunately.. After 3 years all of us were furloughed cause of COVID. The last 6 months there were shit, 5-10 hours of the night we had nothing to work on since we'd finish pretty quickly for our planes that were in storage... just sitting. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Back in the day, when I was about 17 or 18, I was a cabinet maker. I was a cabinet maker for a while before and after that, I'm 20 btw, but during that period, I'd work from 7am to about 4 or 5pm regularly. Then one day, my uncle that drives me home decided it would be a good idea for me to go to a second job after working my ass off for 9 hours, so for a while I was doing about 14-16 hour days. Now, I'm a stupid kid. I never thought to half ass anything or just not work as hard because I was scared of getting in trouble. For you guys and gals getting into handy work, do not prioritize the work over your own health. I'm only 20 but my shoulder is fucked and my back always hurts. Why did I comment? Idk, I guess sometimes you just feel like sharing.

Lucky for you. I was once doing part time job but become permanent workers because the shop that i used to work with was going to shut down permanently. Knowing that the restaurant going to be shutdown, a lot of people comes to the restaurant to enjoy their last meal 2 weeks straight until the last day of the restaurant. Knowing that there is not so many workers and me is the only person who work as bartender and server to the customer, i had to work with no time to breath from 8a.m. until 3p.m., catching my breath and having lunch for 1 hour, and continue to work from 4p.m. until 10p.m. for the whole 2 weeks. The only person who backed me up is my manager and supervisor but their helps somehow becomes burden to me because they are a bit slower than me when serving customer. I'm not trying to make an argument, just saying that working full day shift does gonna break your mind and body
