I have this watch. I bought it for its accuracy, and it really delivers. I wish there was more on the internet about how they achieve it. Only downside is, you don't get to set the time but once, maybe twice a year. Seconds hand is also dead on. The other hands are also, but the seconds hand alignment is impressive. Finally, when you take it out of sleep, the seconds hand moves to its correct position faster than you can see. The white face is more legible, but I gravitate to blue faces.

Hello, great review, admiration! I have a 41mm version with a white dial on a chain. The problem with me is that I wear it loose, but the crown and guards are terribly uncomfortable and cut my arm a lot. I have the same problem with the clasp. It is a "butterfly" type, I don't know how it is made, but it definitely cuts very unpleasantly when worn loosely. In short, I avoid wearing it ... but it is so beautiful .. Have you noticed such problems? Best regards!

indeed, I would avoid the Longines bracelets full stop. They are mostly unconfortable and I too cannot get a precise fit. No issues with the crownguard on this one, but the crown guard on the hydroconguest is unfortunately terrible.

I just bought the VHA and the day is a day behind, how do i change it do correct date?
@papapityke6486 Жыл бұрын
Haven't looked into this for a while, but from memory, as the date is a calendar pre-programmed you may be best off by getting it to Longines, I'm afraid.

For some reason reviewers fail to explain how these differ from traditional quartz watches: this is actually a smartwatch disguised as a traditional watch what comes to looks. It has two separate components: timekeeping computer (perpetual calendar and other unusual features are based on that. Also the minute hand jumps forward every ten seconds, it does not glide) and separate motors for every hand and date ring. It has no traditional sprocket wheels at all. I think buyers should know what they are getting before buying one. I have the white dial version on my wrist right now. Nice piece but not a watch in the traditional sense. Surprised to see such lack of basic horological knowledge in the part of reviewers, I have checked maybe half a dozen reviews and none of them mention these facts about the inner workings of Longines V.H.P. watches, which is similar to Casio G-Shock watches with hands. But mentioning these in the same sentence might not be a great selling point for Longines.

practice does the 50 meter water resistance really hold up? Any experience?
@papapityke64863 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried it, but the 5atm on these should be fine for swimming and sitting in a pool. Pressure increase when for example jumping into a pool , so for the usual recreational beach life I would say it’s fine. In the 90s we all swam with our swatch watches, they had 3atm, never a problem.

so your supposed to cut the strap?
@papapityke64863 жыл бұрын
yes, that's how it works. it is not unheard, Breitling has some rubber straps like that, Tissot Touch rubber straps are like this. just a few that come to mind now

It is accurate to +5/5 seconds a year not 10, also it has perpetual calendar and Grand Seiko 9F not.
@papapityke64865 жыл бұрын
sladkru thanks, indeed 5 seconds a year, however the Grand Seikos with a five pointed star are also accurate to the same level. Check out the SBGT241 as an example. I do say perpetual calendar in the video.

@@davidvsgorilla3862 yes, second hand can be reset, but as an owner I don't recommend this watch anymore. I had an issue with water leakage and as far as I know it is probably case defect affecting several examples. it is currently in Switzerland repaired second time under warranty (3rd month I think). I've got it after first repair but second hand didn't reset to 12 o'clock and I returned it again, The watch is not worth your money.

Like the watch a lot ... White version better... I saw a reply saying.., I refuse to buy a watch that needs a battery... I say .... I refuse to buy a watch that doesn’t keep accurate time each day and needs service every 5-15 years costing $250-500) dollars Look hard at these few quality quartz movements Longines has the lowest price compared to Rolex, Omega and Grand Seiko... I quit buying mechanicals...

how is it possible to do such a long review and do not even put the most important shot - how it looks on the wrist?

@@papapityke6486 no money it is ok, but even a random dude understand that if you make such a video, wrist shot will be most (or at least one of the most) interesting to others

@@basedpatriotLT you probably have misunderstood my response. I meant, that no wrist shot, cause I am an amateur and do not follow scripts, nor have a desire to "improve" to gather a greater audience and so fort, I do it because I like it and I only post content when I have a watch worth talking a bit about. Total maverick here ;)
@basedpatriotLT3 жыл бұрын
@@papapityke6486 you also misunderstood, as if anyone would naturally show a watch for so many minutes they would naturally include wrist shot. No scripts or improvement jn play. It is like if anyone amateur filmed fishing video, they would naturally show or tell what bait was used to catch that fish. Without any script, that would be natural (even for amateurs) common sense.
