Why is there 142 Thumbs Down I don't understand it this video has saved me a fortune I was quoted £435 for a capacitor replacement in my Seiko Solar v175 replace the battery myself £12 then it needed adjusting took the Watch into a repair shop and he said it would cost £ £100 because the Watch needed stripping down came onto this website which I have now subscribe to followed the instructions now the watch is working perfectly fine this man does not have to give these trade secrets away but he does if I lived in America this is the only man I would do business with

I got a delbana watch, I couldn't find the correct video for it, figured it out by myself. Pull out the crown (both 2 clicks) Hold/click the upper button (to reset the chronograph hand) Click the bottom button to change the dial you're calibrating (it'll switch between the hand, and 2 sundials, the 3rd subdial which works as a second hand cannot be calibrated) After switching between the hand and subdials and choosing the selected dial, click or hold the upper button (to spin or accurately change the selected hand) You're welcome!

THANK YOU!!! I brought my Seiko that I've had for at least 10 years to 2 different watch repair shops in Boston and they told me the "motherboard" needed to be repaired to reset the minute sub-dial. Easily fixed after watching this.

Just received a new Seiko reissue from you, the SSC569, and the stopwatch second hand was +8 seconds. I checked the manual, the instructions were there, but I wasn't following them correctly. Checked a few other videos, no luck, see this WL#30, get the hand reset in as much time as it took you to explain it. Awesome! Nor my first reissue from you and won't be my last. Also bought a couple of Orient's from you as well. Keep up the great work!

Hey Mark - Very helpful! I was helping out my brother by changing the dead battery in his Relic brand chronograph watch ( w/ a Seiko VD57 movement). He no longer has the original manual for the watch, and I've not been able to find one online (there maybe some awesome web sleuths out there who can, but I couldn't). I found some literature on the movement itself, but it didn't talk about resetting the various chrono subdials. Once you demonstrated the technique, I was able to get all 3 sub-dials back to their proper alignment. Many thanks for the video!

This video was very useful even if does not show my watch model. I have a cheap Blue Grid (YVS454) Swatch, and it was slightly different to set the hands. It was like this: > The first nock of the middle button allows to set: - big second hand using the bottom button - small 10th sec dial hand using the top button > The second nock (most open) of the middle button was to adjust the small minutes hand using the top button. Another excellent W&L. I had a Victorinox chronograph with an ETA quartz movement in it that was off for years and it drove me nuts. There was no mention whatsoever in the user manual of a reset procedure, but fortunately one day I happened across a KZbin video that explained the process. It's now spot-on, but now I know even more about the subject and the subtle differences among movements. Thanks, Marc!

Once again, thank you. Pulled out my Tag Aquaracer manual and there it was. I never liked the minute counter, always at a slight tilt. What is funny is I just got it back from Tag for some minor repairs after 10 years of use and they didn't align the hands back to perfect zero. I didn't ask them, I figured it was just a tiny bit crooked, no big deal. But still it bothered me just a little. Now it's all squared up and looking perfect. Thank you. Soon I will have to go to your Web page and shop around to repay the favor.

You're a lifesaver mate. My solar Orient Neo70s (WV0041TX) chrono dials haven't been resetting correctly since I let it wind down, and I just couldn't find how to reset it - looked for instructions online (it's a JDM so they're hard to find) tried every version of crown and buttons I could think of. Turns out it has a Seiko v175 inside just like the Seiko you showed, and that worked great.

The 1/20 seconds dial at the six o’clock has always been out pointing at the two o’clock area. I’d given up many years ago thinking how to adjust it and just accept the watch as cock eyed. The Messerschmitt chrono-zero method works for a Deep Blue Master 1000. I just reset mine back to zero with that method. Thanks for putting this out there.

This was great! I have two quartz chronos that had this problem and I thought I had to go to a watchmaker. And one of them is a Swatch which is not serviceable, so I thought there was nothing to be done for that one. After watching this I recalibrated them in minutes. Thanks!

Excellent! I have a Guess chronograph, which I believe has a Seiko movement. It has been in my drawer for a few years because the hands weren't zeroed. I popped in a new battery, used your tutorial and now the hands are in perfect alignment. Brilliant stuff! I guess (no pun intended) I should have hung on to the manual I never read. Very helpful video l have a Bulova Chronograph similar layout to the last chrono in your video. I believe Bulova use a Citizen/Myota movement. I could have sworn when l bought the watch the second hand lined up at zero but for a while now I'd noticed it was just past the 12° position. This video helped me to reset it to line up at 12

Thank you! I decided to save some money and change the battery myself. I must have accidentally pressed some buttons while it was in the watch holder (still have no idea how) but the stop watch hand was now pointing at the 8 second mark... 😱 Of course now I'm panicking and thinking I'm an idiot for trying to do the battery change myself... 😭 However, your video came to the rescue and helped me reset it to the 12 o'clock mark! 👍
