The ending felt rushed. I think they needed 30-45 more mins to really unpack the big reveal and play up the horror to the final scene.

I thought it was meh.. my husband loved it. Felt more like a detective thriller than a horror movie. Also it was slow, I was fighting to stay awake buuuut it was shot beautifully. There were a few plot holes that were never resolved by the end of the movie.

I saw this and loved it. Pretty hard to talk about without spoiling, but it's very ominous and in the vein of Se7en (definitely not as dark, though, technically and figuratively) with uncomfortable shots and disconcerting performances. Director Oz Perkins has quite a family. Besides, Anthony Perkins being his dad, his mother was on American Airlines flight 11 on 9/11...Her grandmother was a famous wacky fashion designer friend of Salvador Dali. Great review. Glad many people enjoy it despite the "scary" hype.

To have an issue with Midsommar but think this was a great movie is...interesting, imo. I feel like I'm missing something because I went in blind and this didn't deliver to me at all. I didn't find it scary or unnerving in the slightest, yet so many people are saying it's good, and some are saying it's horror movie of the year. Personally, I was glad I didn't spend full price on a ticket. There were people in my row trying not to fall asleep. Hard for horror movies to scare me in general, though, as I'm an avid horror fan and watch them regularly. Also, I felt like Nicholas Cage's makeup just looked goofy - Mrs. Doubtfire-esque. However, I appreciate that it was something different. Great marketing and cinematography. I liked how many of the shots made you analyze the background. To each their own 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I loved this movie. It took me back and reminded me of oldschool 70s/80s horror movies. Wouldnt say this is horror though more so an unsettling and creepy mystery. I could definitely see this gettin a sequel, since there are elements of… demonic stuff. Tryin not to spoil it too much, but its definitrly possible for a part two, especially since you can tell Cage enjoyed this role. I give this a solid 7/10 🤔🔥

Every time you do a review they should play "Tony Toni Tone has done it again"! Great job Sir! We just saw the movie and left a little disappointed only cause the expectation was seeing a Silence of Lambs thriller crime mystery and it turn into a mix of Annabelle & Saw 😮. They never capitalized on the tension of victoms in the moment as most tragic events were shown after the fact. There was a couple parts that made my wife jump and yeah I think also dropped some popcorn too 😅. I give it a 3 but that's cause it changed midway from expectation. It's like someone asking if you want some bacon & eggs and it winds up being turkey bacon and egg whites. Im down to eat that just like to it know before hand 😊

It was meh… a little bit of a jumpscare but the same ol’ horror movie tropes: crazy “nun”, evil doll, satanist serial killer… I only watched it for Blair Underwood. They really didn’t explain why he was called “Long Legs” unless I missed it. They caught him quicker than I thought they would. I figured out quickly about the mother. The only twist I didn’t see was that he was in the basement of her mom’s house. Like how long did he stay there and how did the detective not notice that he was there for years? Because of the doll? It ended too quickly.

I recommend seeing it in D-Box future tip horror films in the box is the way to see it. Everything is enhanced because the seat jerks around so in this film I was anticipating it and then when those jump scares happen, they punch that vibration hard and you jump and the whole theater reacts. It was amazing.

In terms of thriller it definitely served it purpose. Some of the main characters' storyline did not make sense based on the fact that she's a detective. Great performances all around by the cast. I definitely left with some questions after it was over which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like the attention to detail to the devil theme when the credits came on lol It kept my attention story wise and the actors were great in their roles even though I felt more of the plot needed to be fleshed out. so I'd give it a 3.5 🎷's out of 5

saw it. ( as reference, when i saw Hereditary, i predicted it to be the next "good horror movie" made in a long time ) that said, my viewpoint on "LongLegs" should be taken with more than a grain of salt. First, when i saw the trailers, i had high expectations and visions of whet they COULD do with the subject, ghost, entity or monster. It left a lot of good atmosphere for terrifying events. But... when i saw the movie, it felt like a lot of wasted opportunity. Like more than a little. Where drama took place, was the wrong viewpoint of the drama needed. And the entity wasn't utilized with good practical effects like a good horror needs, along with any CGI necessary, good practical physical special effects make for a well designed visual. Sometimes a whole movie with nothing but real physical creatures or effects are far better than a little "bad CGI" effects. Or in this case, the wrong ones, or at least the wrong viewpoint that the viewer sees the horror happening. Sorry, as this is just one opinion, but like many of us who enjoy horror movies, VERY FEW actually get us excited to watch. And when one comes along with prospects, we get higher expectations than what is delivered, need to get together, somehow with our ideas on specific scenes we have in mind that are "real scary" ideas, and collaborate these ideas as a group or committee that gets the attention of the right people who can actually utilize them into a movie, and not just go with one writers idea and a directors last word on their idea of what is scary. I don't just feel, "but know" some of what terrifies me personally, would make most people cringe. And is NOTHING taken from another movie, but within my own imagination that could easily be put to screen "if" the right producers and directors would actually listen to them. But 1 post here on KZbin isn't near enough to make that happen. We need a team of horror idealists, for single or multiple horror scenes that is adaptable to different horror movies, on a scene by scene idea, so its adaptability can be used for these horrible made B movies that somehow get approved by people who obviously have way too much money to spend on "not scaring" anyone, and some are to the point of ridiculous and a comedy of horror, rather than true nightmarish terror. Why are soooo many B movies allowed to waste our time? Because there's more people out there that have mediocre ideas that have mediocre direction and a small budget. If that's the case, i'd rather only 1 horror movie per year get made well, than a hundred B or C movies get made daily. Its just horrible waste of time to watch something poorly made. True vision comes from smaller individuals ideas, collaborated by a committee who decide on an idea to either advance, or be rejected. My god, they STILL use the cliche' of little girls singing "ring around the posey" !! as if that wasn't used 1000 times! And to many, wasn't creepy at all to begin with!! And recently, the fast becoming cliche' of the person who looks in the mirror and the person walks away, while the mirrors image of them smirks a while longer " isn't creepy anymore ok?? its just not. And ghosts aren't scary anymore, monsters have to be 500 foot tall giants just to keep our attention anymore. It's time us horror viewers did something to change this. or small low budget Indi movies with bad direction will ruin the future of horror for everyone. Message me if there is ANY interest in change, i will spearhead this endeavor, knowing we, the few who have true vision of the genre will attempt to keep it not just alive, but worth the time of watching.
