@@jacobgilles2392 I wish you luck! Mine unfortunately passed away. He injured his swim bladder/lung and couldn't take in any air. Of course he was still getting oxygen from his gills, but only in small amounts so he just couldn't make it :/ It was really unfortunate. In my years of fishkeeping, Longnose gar are one of the fish that I just have not had luck with. This one was my third attempt, and I don't think I'll get another until I have a truly massive tank (5000g+) and even then maybe not. They seem like a species that doesn't do well in captivity. At least when they're young. Personally I've only seen one raised to adulthood from a fingerling, and most of the ones I've seen that are doing well are large ones that have been wild caught at a larger size. Again though, that's just what I've noticed personally, so maybe you have seen something different. I'm not trying to bring you down.
