This is the longplay of the game Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 DX, hacked game from Wario Land (action and platform game for Game Boy). This modification was made by korxo and released in 2022 for the Game Boy Color.
This is the first game where we control Wario, Mario's evil alter-ego. Wario debuted as an antagonist in Super Mario Land 2, where he was defeated by Mario and lost his castle. Even though he was defeated, Wario decides to go after other treasures, in order to further increase his wealth and try to build an even better Castle than Mario's. However, in this game Wario's focus is not Mario, but a place called Kitchen Island, dominated by the Brown Sugar Pirates, a group of treasure thieves commanded by Captain Syrup. Captain Syrup is an attractive pirate woman and treasure collector, but don't let her pretty face fool you, she is ambitious and will try at all costs to stop Wario's advance. And Wario will want to build new wealth and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
In the game we control Wario, who in addition to jumping at enemies, can also attack by hitting them with his shoulders and throw enemies at each other, in addition to being able to use coins as weapons. The (anti-)hero has three transformations: Bull Wario (allows you to use strong attacks, fall to the ground stunning enemies and break blocks easily), Dragon Wario (allows you to shoot fire through the helmet, but does not allow you to do the body slam), Jet Mario (allows you to float for a considerable time, in addition to increasing speed). The objective of the game is to pass the levels, some have more than one path, just like in Super Mario World on the SNES, as well as secret treasures. Collecting all the treasures and passing all the stages is a prerequisite to getting the best ending. It's an excellent game, without a doubt.
The modification of this game focused on adding colors to the game, using the Game Boy Color palette. This game can only be played on the Game Boy Color or on an emulator. The video was made by obtaining all the treasures and going through all the stages. Hope you like it.

I believe it won't be (at least this colored version), as it is a hack and not an official game. The way to play is with an emulator or on a Game Boy Color/Advance using an Everdrive cartridge.

I think the color hack in Mario Land 2 was a lot better. I hope someone makes a new color hack for this game.😅 Edit: sorry if I was too harsh.

I agree. The color hack of Wario Land looks quite off, especially comparing to other color hacks like SML 1 and 2 and Kirby's Dream Land 1 and 2.

Childhood memories! 1 of my favorite Mario games next to Super Mario Land 2. Mario Land 1 in GB was terrible. I remember back then as a kid how difficult it was to get all the treasures. The biggest reward at the end i could get was the big castle. Didn't know about the moon!

A little trick for more money, if you ever choose to play this game again. If a spiky Thwomp lands on an enemy, said enemy turns into a 10-value coin. Something to bear in mind.

Here's my secret for Easy Money: -Press Pause -Press Select 16 times -When you see a box highlighting the number digit, hold down A Button and use arrows to ascend the digit for more coins, lives, hearts, and time remaining. A lot better and superior than gambling.

It's a wonderful ROM hack. The colours displayed by the emulator don't really do it justice: on a REAL gameboy, they should be more pastel. The modder choose to use such vivid colors because the gameboy LCD panel always render them much dimmer than they really are.

Why are you so quick to defeat those yellow birds in levels 12, 26, 34, and 38? They spit out 3 10-gold-coins for every enemy you feed them? Also, what’s your trick to always picking the winning side in the coin game?
