Re-recorded in better quality. I tried to get platinum medals on every stage but it doesn't seem necessary in order to get all of the stages unlocked... and whilst it looks really cool to get high combos, it's not very easy with the bongos. Let me tell you, this game is amazing fun with the bongos but when you start to stress yourself out to get platinum on every stage you're gonna kill the fun. Maybe it's just my set of bongos but sometimes they seemed a little unresponsive especially when it comes to the backflips or groundpounds which are upmost necessary to get the required combo multiplier for platinum medals in some stages. Despite the fact that this channel and the pressure viewers put on me has changed the way I look at games, focusing more on "good gameplay" and less on enjoying a game... I decided to let this one slide a little bit. The gameplay is still fine, really, I'm just being hard on myself, but I feel like people expect an all-platinum run. Good news is that there's also a Wii version, which doesn't require to be played with Bongos. There's two more stages in that version so I'll definitely be covering it some day... and I'm gonna try a lot harder to get all-platinum there. Anyway, it's a great game. I'd probably put it atleast in my top 25 games you should own for the system, but the fact it requires the bongo's is a bit inconvenient. It's really fun though and whilst the main game is fairly easy, unlocking the final levels post-game offers a fun little challenge that's neither too difficult nor too easy. It's really designed for anybody, which is a common theme when it comes to Nintendo

I still have to play the Wii version but I like how it doesn’t require the bongos. I suspect that Wii is less frustrating and more fun to get perfect scores on, whereas GameCube with bongos is overall just a better casual experience if you don’t care about being perfectionist

This was an awesome game! I remember playing this, it was a lot of fun! The Kong fights feels like a Punch-Out game. Dread Kong was a nice intro boss, Karate Kong reminds me of Gen from Street Fighter with the typical head dodge whenever you punch him, Ninja Kong's just plain awesome, and Sumo Kong was one of the most memorable fights....you have boxing sumo match ON A METEOR!

It's frustrating the game didn't sell well. It deserved a series. Creativity should be rewarded better. Playing with the Bongos was really fun. Incredible how they could combine simplicity with immense pleasure. Just moving DK, platforming around, performing tricks to get max combos makes this game so unique. The Bongos had something to do. I'm likely alone here but I believe I prefer Jungle Beat to the SNES DKC trilogy (I haven't played Returns or Tropical Freeze). Sure Jungle Beat was short but the pleasure was immeasurable. I don't even want to begin talking about boss fight or it will never end, but suffice to say, the Kongs (Karate, Ninja, Sumo) were so good they have to be the best fights in all DKs I've played so far.

This game needs a new opus so bad. For your information, the team that issued this game was the same team that released Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, so basically they re-used tons of assets from DKJB, and you can even find some sound design that sound alike in those games . My point being that this team was a AAA-graded team.

As someone who chased those Platinum crests on this game years ago I'm internally screaming at some combo potential missouts. Mainly if you quick drop (by banging both bongos in the air) into ocean it's a start Combo 2 (like in Pristine Sea or Sweet Paradise) and you can slowly raise the combo further. You can also pull that truck when about to start a convo with those dandelion things you swing on to catapult yourself like In Banana Kingdom 2. I'm sorry if this offends anyone. It's just my feelings. It is great to see this game again though. I wish I did re get it back when New play control was a thing.

Man trust me, I really tried for platinums but the bongos just respond terribly. I’m not surprised people have done all platinum runs but I just don’t have the time for it. Kinda wish I did this on an emulator, because high combo footage would’ve looked a lot more enjoyable and I wouldn’t have to rip my hair out
