Longplay of Wave Race: Blue Storm

Whilst digging through my older uploads I found out this one needed to be re-done as the original version was recorded from an emulator (due to it's extreme difficulty) and the FPS was very choppy. It wasn't too bothersome to play through again though fortunately as it's a relatively short game as long as long as you can take advantage of save states lol. The game tries to introduce realistic sea physics and it just makes the overall gameplay quite annoying.. pair it with heavy rubberbanding AI and you'll be eating your own shoe trynna complete this. I can't give the game too much flack though, as it was released in late 2001. Atleast the graphics look fun.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I can’t even beat this game on the easiest difficulty setting. The controls almost feel… too tight and using the turbo just feels like a death sentence 99% of the time. Wave Race 64 is far superior.

This game came out like 20 yrs ago and it's still pretty damn impressive up to this day great job by the developers on this 1 ! It's a shame the waverace series hasn't continued on Nintendo's consoles we def need a new 1!

It's pretty fun game. But certainly it have a difficulty curve, and is recommended play a few course trying to understand how the game works even if the player is not attempting for winning. Also there is a pretty fun cheat code for the game that makes the commentor for the race pretty rude, and is just amazing. Unfortunately after this game, Wave Race was done for.

too bad the 64 version felt like sunshine, beaches, umbrella cocktails party and competition. This feels more like illegal street races. How can the music/sounds be so bad compared to energy of 64?

there are definitely places that look identical to Aspen Lake up in like New England/Maine and also the western states like it's namesake Aspen, Colorado but more likely Oregon/Washington and also northern Michigan and the Greak Lakes of course.

I’m amazed you didn’t try to go a little out of order considering the game gives you the option to do that. Like, you could have done OC Harbor in the Normal Circuit on a day it wasn’t raining.

The atmosphere has changed somewhat since wave race 64. I hate the new voice for the commentator, it's too serious and flat for this game, it doesn't express anything, it looks like a robot. The music was obfuscated in this game, the n64 music was phenomenal and gave it a very summery and lively vibe.
