Longplay of Chocobo Racing

Greetings, all! This longplay covers the Story Mode as that mode goes through all of the tracks in the game anyways. However, you'll notice an edit towards the end after the credits. That was because I did have to play Story Mode a second time to face Squall and unlock the FF8 Circuit, which, I gotta say, is the worst track in the game. Still, was able to beat it despite Squall's broken ability. Overall, I did kind of enjoy this title. Am I proud to say this was the first Final Fantasy game I've sat down to play? ...Dunno, but I will be checking out the sequel they made for Switch in the near future.

Squaresoft’s creative freedom in the 90s was without measure, and it was awesome. We don’t see so many companies risking it like this nowadays

Used to play this a lot as a kid. Always loved the music and I didn't learned until years later that most of the track themes were arrangements of other FF themes. My favorite was and always will be Mythril Mines.

The White Mage theme is a remix of the Town theme from the original Final Fantasy.

This seems like a pretty fun racing game. I kind of miss this era of gaming where developers were willing to do anything with their franchises. Make a racing game out of Final Fantasy? Why not

Gingerbread Land in Chocobo Racing (1999) is a delicious dessert racetrack like Tart Top in Mario Kart DS (2005), Sweet Sweet Canyon in Mario Kart 8 (2014) and Sky-High Sundae in Wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (2022).
