I loved the format the first three harry potter games had of small quests to reach new spells while exploring the castle, the very fact that the Howarts grounds stayed almost the same in these three games gave it a sense of unity, like they where their own version of the harry potter universe. I really loved them and actually lost interest on the games once goblet of fire came out

The Hogwarts grounds did NOT stayed "stayed almost the same in these three games" AT ALL as the 3rd game changed the Hogwarts grounds EXACTLY the same as the movie that was done perfectly to capture the transition of And just because Goblet of Fire had a more mission structure to it all, doesn't mean it wasn't massively fun because it WAS and not only that, the regular missionary structure of the first 3 games returned for Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince, you people LOVE to complain over nothing here AS MOST of the Harry Potter games were outright excellent throughout to play through.

I remembering having this game and beating the shit out of it. They took hella liberties because they wanted to make an actually interesting game, which is expected and worked in the long run for EA. I'll never forget the Dementor train attack from either the movie and most especially from this game. This game's dementors gave me chills, I remember playing this on a gloomy rainy day in the summer when I was younger, there was nothing more terrifying to me than hearing/feeling the dementors slam on the train car door as it shook the whole car which that huge echo; i was alone while playing this as I recall and had the lights off in the middle of the afternoon; straight shivers down my spine as I felt like the Dementors were coming out of the TV to get me. This game had some really creepy parts mostly the first stage, the stage where the boss battle was against a giant cauldron, any of the sneaking bits where you're avoiding the detection of another character or the suits of armor that shook and rumbled if you got seen by them; the music in those sneaking bits drove my anxiety up the wall, the part where you had to save Nevil from a ghoul as the entire stage you could hear the ghoul giving off these scary-ass noises and no music played aside from mini-boss music with the possessed toys in the room, and finally the stage where you get the expecto patronum spell as harry. I loved this game as a kid, and honestly finding a long play of it reignited a memory that took up a huge part of my childhood. The music in this game was really something spectacular and honestly I could hear echos of it deep in the back of my mind at random moments, guess thats what you call a classic.

The one thing I liked about the first 3 Harry Potter games was that it had a distinctive art style and followed the illustrated covers look, but after that all the other games just seemed to follow the gritty, grim realistic look of the films and changed the gameplay style

It all depends on the version. Try the PC and PS1 versions of the first three games (except, there's no PS1 version of Prisoner of Azkaban). But yeah, the PS2 versions followed the art style of the box
