This was my first time completing the game after a practice run during the same week. I'm so glad I finally got to finish this game as it was too hard for me when I was young. Majora's Mask seems to get a lot of bad rep but the storyline is a lot more interesting in my opinion... or maybe I just played OoT too much. Most people have never given Majora's Mask a good try which is very unfortunate, but also understandable. You need to get a good hang of this game and understand what you're doing to enjoy it, as the 72 hour timer is stressing you (note: use the Slow time song). Anyway, more about this longplay, the beginning is a little whacky as I was following a bad guide. It features some mask collection which I could've done a bit more efficiently (nothing crucially bad), but everything onwards from the swamp temple is run efficiently. The only cuts I've made in this video was when I had to wait long periods, such as during the Anju & Kafei quest (the JUST under 12h mark was not an expected outcome from this, but very happy!). Furthermore, I tried my best to focus on the main story as much as possible so you're able to use it as a completion guide without me going random places for unecessary heart pieces (let's be honest, losing hearts is for losers and you always got fairies to back you up lol). However, I DID manage to get all of the masks as I believe this is a crucial part of Majora's Mask and I would definitely be leaving out key content if I didn't show Fierce Deity. Not collecting the masks would make this longplay turn too much in a speedrun honestly. Collecting the masks is one of the best features about this game and one reason why I prefer this over OoT. There are some requirements linked to the masks but other than that, you're able to collect most of them any time you wish. Some masks require some special dungeons or long quests and some masks require you to simply talk to a character. It definitely adds to the gameplay though. Took a while to make and it's one of the very few N64 titles I have left with lengthy gameplay. Proud to have it added to the N64 collection and I hope you can drop a like:)

I'm extremely saddened to say that I'm aware of this. I've spent roughly 8 hours cutting encoding errors out but not all can be found through the method I use. There is a slight chance I have found the root of the problem but I've already recorded 8 new longplays since. Fortunately, Banjo Tooie has been recorded with this possible fix so I'm looking forward to editing that game and finding out.

Take me back to 2001 when I was just 10 years old and played this amazing game for the first time. This, Super Mario 64, and Goldeneye were my top favorite games as a kid, and I really think this game is best played when you're a kid. You really get more out of the whole experience when you have that young imagination running wild mixed with the chills and ominous feelings you would constantly get from the dark storyline and the dark undertone of the music. No other game gave me that kind of experience as a kid.

Totally! I was also 10 in 2001, and everything you say, I can completely relate to. I remember when I played this as a kid on the 64, we didn’t have KZbin or even the internet to help us get past the hard parts , (internet was dial up or expensive per minute)😅. We had manuals/guides , and I had the guide for this game. It looked like a magazine, with glossy pages and pictures. But it told you how to do everything from start to finish , though a little vague. Me and my brothers spent hours at a time all playing this together trying to beat it ☺️. God such good memories 🖤 This and Ocarina of Time are my life.

The Prima guides were awesome. I still have mine even though they are tattered and missing sections. My mom taught me how to read using them because I hated reading what the teacher assigned. She would let read them all night after I did my homework in 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade. I'd learn every part of the games even if I didn't actually get that far in the game. By the time I actually got farther into the games, I knew how to solve puzzles and where to go. I used to get so excited to reach a new area after I saw the guide pictures of what was coming up. Major nostalgia, sitting on the floor building Legos and reading the Zelda guides in 1998-2002, waiting for Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, SpongeBob, DragonBall Z.... sorry I'm going down memory lane right now lol

I swear, Oldowa was one of the most stressful fights in my life. It were the last minutes of my day so i had to beat the guy FAST, not knowing what to do. The sound of the clockbells ringing and those disturbing ahoy’s (or whatever) he says is like a mixture for fright😭

So here’s the thing, I’m still a kid and this is my first time watching a full Majora’s Mask gameplay. My first Zelda game was Skyward Sword, so I never knew the deal about Majora’s Mask or Ocarina of Time! Now, I’m starting to explore these games I’ve never experienced much.

@@RangelGabriel, I thought you were talking about my profile, lol, sorry about that. It’s actually my art, so I’m afraid there’s no link, but the character in between them is child Ganon that I found online! I just redid them so they looked more clean and matched up with each other.

I've honestly come across this game as being one of my favorites. It's dark theme, story line, side quests is captivating and just keeps me completely sucked in. I used to watch my oldest brother play this game on the N64 when I was a kid. Me being the youngest girl in my family I was always the watcher, and this game had a tight grip on me back in 2000 and it still does to this day. I watched this game like a movie when I was 4-8 years old, and when my brother passed down the torch to me I was 11 years old. Man oh man, this game took me 13 years to complete 100%. This game is really not easy on N64 or Game Cube, the amount of patience you need to have for this game has to be HIGH. 3DS is simpler, but for me not the same. ( I'll still play it.) At times, you just get so emotionally and mentally invested to have everything done in a timely manner. I always had a hard time turning off the game, I played this game religiously. I like a challenge, I enjoy a good story line with interesting characters and side quests. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are the games that did it for me. Forever grateful these games exist..

You should play Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. People say it surpassed Ocarina Of Time, and others say it's as good but different. A masterpiece nevertheless

That level at the very end, when Link plays hind and seek with the manifestations of the four temple guardians, is purely epic. Not the gameplay, but the dialogue between the five of them. Link embraces the power of a Deity, very similar to the mask of Majora who corrupted skulked. However along Links journey he helped as many people has he could, and recurved masks in return, essentially embodying the good of everyone in the realm. Therefore, Link was strong enough not to succumb to the power of being a Deity. The positive energy, kindness and justice of everyone Link helped in the game protected him. Very poetic. Don't make them like they used to.
