This game was one of the first i ever played and the console its on is almost twice my age, yet i remember literally everything up to about halfway through the game as 6 year old me never got past the massive school section because i just had no clue what to do, i also remember my cartridge having a dead baterry so i just repeatedly played halfway through the game every now and then, man i love this game. Dont even get me started on the insane soundtrack, especially the battle themes just stick in my head even after years. This game is just absolutely amazing. Didnt quite age well looking back at it now but the music as i said definitely holds up. Hopefully i can revisit and finally beat this gem soon

Best thing about this game is when you completed the game, you can play it over and over again with the same level and status you have completed the game on, especially keeping the cards, card combos, and monster info; but sadly you will end up losing your items, money, equipment, etc. Planning on completing the game and hoping when I play it again, I can get the Merlin deck to complete the Magi collection. Update: It works! My first playthrough I had the Morgan Le Fay deck; now that I have achieved the Merlin deck, I have to find all the Merlin deck cards to unlock the chests in the card collection room!

To get Skurge, you need to go into Filch's office at the entrance floor on your way to Herbology class (tho I think you can do it later as well). Go to his desk and you'll find the Kwikspell book that will teach you Skurge. Also, leave and re enter and talk to Filch twice. He'll give you a pair of Leather Gloves in return for you not telling anyone, really good piece of armor to have early on

I was trying to complete the game as much as possible so to beat all the opponents I needed to grind levels. I could have came back later to beat the opponents but eventually, at a certain part in the story, the dueling club opponents can no longer be challenged, so I just decided to grind it out the first time I was there.
