strange to see myself here. even stranger that another 28 people found their way here ;) sounds like we recorded inside a washing machine in someone's bathroom ... oh dear, the seventies! i still enjoy the last verse and fadeout, though. anyway, thanks for posting, as i'm not sure how anyone would otherwise ever get the chance to hear any of my seriously "old" stuff. how about "sunset", "peace on earth" or "saints"?

It’s a beautiful track. I imagine the bathroom recording style is partly why I like it so much. I found it via Flo’s NTS breakfast radio show. Hope the revival continues, more people need to hear it :)

"time for a change" is yet another "lost" song for which i have neither text nor music ... it's a bit strange being part of other people's nostalgia, i should try harder to reassemble all the pieces of the past. either way, my thanks again to longroad3 for posting these

Hugh, your music is SO wonderful, it always moves me. It brings back magical memories from my time as a student in Bangor. I just missed you but you were so much a part of our experiences there as mutual friends had your records/cassettes. Please, please can you re-release Largo and Empty Houses and any others - yes, loved Saints and Peace on Earth too, am desperate to hear all those gorgeous tracks again. 💖💐🎸🎼

I bought this LP from the artist in 1980 while he was touring US forces during Reforger. Great album I have listened to many times over the years. Wonder if he ever recorded 4220? "The 4220 don't run no more, got baby trees growing through her door"

omg, ross, that is one song that decades later sometimes revisits my head even though i never play it. it so sums up that time on reforger and the very weird place i wrote it in. most of the lyrics are still in my head and the chords were simple enough ... shouldn't be so hard. thanks so much for the reminder and sorry to reply so late.

Remember: we recorded "Time for a Change" in '76 in the studio near Celle and I posted it on SoundCloud. Let me know if you can't find it and need me to repost!
