I love how well explained everything is, nicely broken down so that you can really understand what you are trying to do with each move.

Thank you so much for your videos. I have been studying the German system for approximately 7 years on my own from whatever manuscripts, books, videos are available as there is no schools where I live in Australia. I immensely enjoy watching your channel as it broadens my understanding of this art regardless weather it is the German or the Italian System. Thank you again. Grazie ancora.

Which region are you from? I know it is hard to find clubs outside of the big cities but there are a few out there.

Man, how I envy you the training grounds you have out there. And the weather that still allows practicing outside.

Great stuff! I really like the shortening after the first fendente as it has often protected my hands in the past already. Personally, I try to add a retreat / disengage with a cover after each of my drills to build a better habit for myself :)

While I love this video and your explanation, would have an interest in making a not fighting were you show us around where you live. It's very beautiful and it's nice to see for those us stuck in city apartments during the pandemic.

I will think about shooting something like that.

Is there textual evidence in Fiore for true edge sottani? I dont see them anywhere from what I've read so far?
@FedericoMalagutti4 жыл бұрын
Fiore specify the edge of cuts only on mezzani. The others are free of interpretation. In the Sottani he just mentions you that they follow the same path as fendenti, namely the same line. This is true for both true edge and false edge sottani, we have also the ending position of both sottani in the poste the two posta di donna and maybe frontale for false dge, finestre and bicorno (Left one is on Pisani dossi) for the true edge. Long story short, we have no textual evidence for the edge of any blow besides Mezzani, the other one are generally based on our personal ideals of "What Fiore actually is" as 21st century people. Vadi specifies more, but he is another person in another time with other needs.

Another very good video, Fererico. I like how you meld historical styles into your own. Since you are looking at what is considered German "Common Fencing," have you seen this Jake Norwood lecture on the topic on CKDF? link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXKbopx9j6-Cb6M He is discussing concepts of common fencing and how to reconstruct it. I believe he mentions Paurenfeyndt specifically as part of his work. Just wanted to share if you hadn't seen it. Also, have you looked at the Meyer concepts of the 3 blows: provoker, taker, hitter as it relates to preset attack sequences? IIRC, Meyer talks about this in the "Rappier" section, but I might be wrong. The concept, and Jake touches on it in that video as well, is the provoker causes a reaction in the opponent; the taker clears the line, moving their weapon out of the way; the hitter does the damage to the opponent.

Where are you sourcing your description of this as flugelhau? Certainly in meyer it's two low cuts "winging up" into a unicorn type position.

That’s why I specify German Common Fencing. Because he is considered part of the German masters out from the Liechtenauer tradition.

Sry for being off-topic. Does commenting on a youtube video influence the algorythm?
@FedericoMalagutti4 жыл бұрын
I am not aware of that, I think by now likes and then views are the most important things.

Yes, it does influence!

Could you tell me what kinds of gloves you are using? I am looking for a good balance of protection and mobility (I also don't mind if they are stylish, lol).
