Each time you talk it brings everything back but it helps with processing it at the same time. Medical PTSD is a nightmare and hits hard when you least expect it but you are doing amazing girl, you have been on a journey of 50 years in 2 years.

You’re absolutely right, as a childhood cancer survivor I can say that every time a friend from hospital passes away it brings back the traumatic time but it helps process it every year over and over.

It is nice to hear from you and know how well your family is doing. I don't think you should feel obliged to post, especially with such a busy family, but when you do, it is always lovely to find out, how everyone is doing. Wishing Lonney Jr many many healthy years. Also, your story made me renew / modernize my organ donor certificate. We need these kind of reminders now and then.

About 3 or 4 months ago a dear friend of mine of liver failure.When I first met her about 4 years ago they said she had liver problems susie's but not too bad. The beginning of this year she was admitted in the hospital they let her lay there to loose weight. She lost too much weight and muscle movement. So they transferred to a major hospital. They put her on the transplant list She had been trying to get on disability and if anyone should get it it should be her. She got it about 2 weeks before she died

My god. Lonnie Jr has been through so much so young. I'm thankful he's doing better and I'm also amazed at how far medical technology has come.

I'm hope that Lonnie is doing well. The lung transplant evaluation is a long stressful process. Dr. Gray and the lung transplant team at the University of Colorado are the best! They have kept me going for the past 4 years. There is great organization called the Joseph J. Carter Lung transplant Foundation. They help lung transplant recipients, patients on the wait list and and their care givers with questions about lung transplant.

I’m sorry that the lungs aren’t working very well. It’s hard to breathe when they’re not working well. I hope lots of lungs will recover soon
@lezupАй бұрын
When you say they can have a single or double lung transplant. How do they determine that? By how sick each lung is? Medical evaluation are always stressful. I wish they had prepared you a little better. The heart stuff definitely sounds related to the lungs. Do they monitor that post transplant? I can’t believe how quickly he was transplanted after being listed. But, it’s based on how they are doing. I know it was scary. Surgery always is. But, I’m happy he got it quickly. I’m so happy to see him doing pretty good. Hey Lonnie! Miss seeing you on the vlogs.
@OurLANDingCrew8Ай бұрын
By how the lungs are doing. Sometimes only one lung will need to be transplanted because the other one is healthy or if you opt for a single lung transplant you can get a donor quicker if you’re older. Typically with younger patients, they’re almost always going to do a double lung transplant unless the other lung is completely healthy. His left lung was very damaged, but so was his right lung so he needed two new lungs.
@lezupАй бұрын
@ thank you for explaining. Sorry to hear the right was so damaged. Sounds like doing both in Lonnie’s case was a good move.

This is unrelated but I’m not from the US so I’m curious why are sons named after the dad but daughters not after the mom?
@mcrchickenluvr28 күн бұрын
It’s more of a traditional thing. Men carry on the family name. Daughters are named after moms or other family members but it’s not quite as common.
