Christmas Eve back in early 80s, my family was peering in the window of Mr. Garman's shop when suddenly the door opened -- long story shortened -- Mr. Garman gave us a personal tour of his studio and what was a much smaller town... a memory I have always held onto -- and we did purchase a few of his sculptures.

I hadn’t heard of Magic Town, so I was so happy to see this wonderful display. It was truly gratifying to see the genuine responses from you and others. He is truly a great artist and miniaturist. We (miniature artists) believe there is beauty in the details. If it’s a themed project, we keep it as close as we can. He has done that wonderfully. Not sure but to answer a question, I think this is created in 1:12 scale. There are lots of amazing houses and minis on here, (including mine); so go look at some of them. It will give you even more perspective of the amount of time, work, and artistic ability this man has. Hats off to him, and thank you for sharing it.

This man is a true artist! His ability to take his life's lessons and arrange them into an actual city. What an accomplishments! He captured part of America and did it in a way that people have to see it. I have done model train layouts and built model buildings but not on this scale. The people sculptures alone are amazing. What a talent!

I just love the town, every thing is in detail, the people, signs, trash cans, furniture, buildings, trees, food newspapers and the animals. It must've took him a year or more to build that up. It's fantastic

Thanks so much for this!!! It was really a wonderful portrait of a man that will forever be my Walt Disney and Norman Rockwell. Thank you Michael Garman for living a life true to you and leaving behind such a beautiful gift that was you. May he live forever in our memories and beyond and get recognized as the Father of Sculptural Theatre-his own unique art form that melds past with present and equally takes us into the infinite possibilities that only the future can hold when we honor our god given imagination and our most authentic self.

Back in the 1980s-90s, my parents purchased several of Mr. Garman's works from a shop located in Put-In-Bay, Ohio. I have been looking at them for 30+ years and every time I do, I notice something new. I would love to visit the museum some day.

That’s awesome!! I’ve wanted a piece by Mr. Garman for a long time, it’s very cool that your pieces have such sentimental value to them. The lighting captured everything perfectly. It felt like standing in the room. Thank you all these years later. The realism, grittiness, poverty, represent a part of US life we prefer to ignore (politically anyway), but what can we say? It exists. The artists kind of honors those people who struggled (struggle) to live each day in less than desirable circumstances.
